Kwanzaa is a manufactured holiday and the history makes that pretty clear. A basic search shows it was created with the explicit goal of standing apart from Christmas. As a supposed cultural alternative, it was framed in opposition to what was seen as a “white” holiday. That is not a foundation worth celebrating. Christmas is not about race and it never has been. It centers on the birth of Christ, the King of Kings, not on skin color or separation.
