Anyone celebrate Kwanzaa? π€·ββοΈ If so, what's it all about? I've looked it up before, but never really known anyone to celebrate it. Is it a made up holiday? Are all holidays made up? π€
Kwanzaa is a manufactured holiday and the history makes that pretty clear. A basic search shows it was created with the explicit goal of standing apart from Christmas. As a supposed cultural alternative, it was framed in opposition to what was seen as a βwhiteβ holiday. That is not a foundation worth celebrating. Christmas is not about race and it never has been. It centers on the birth of Christ, the King of Kings, not on skin color or separation.
Laozi (Lao Tzu) is the most well known of the Taoist sages through the Tao Te Ching. In this video, Master Bruce Frantzis discusses the differences between Laozi and Zhaungzi and why Laozi is more well known.π
People have forgotten the utility of words. Theyβre just tools. We now live in an age where people merge soul and words. An inability to detach the self from words spoken. Or maybe itβs always been this way.
Your last question is 100 percent on point brother! When we speak to ourselves (in our head,) whatβs actually going on there? We jump around from picking ourselves up to judging others and even judging ourself in our mind. Whatβs the purpose other than being an illusion; a distraction. Thatβs the time to let it all go. Be still and know.
