RIP to my decant. It has been a good ride. Buttt ill be getting a full bottle in the coming months once the season turns a bit appropriate so it isnt going anywhere. I still have another week or 2 to try out my faves or some new samples and then its summer frag time baby 🙂‍↕️
Suffering from Performance Issues? (re-up'd)
Hey guys, Joe A. here with another one for ya'! Are you struggling with performance? I’m talking about fragrance performance of course and the issue with spray volume! With current talks about decants, I was wondering what kind of “performance” one could expect with the sprays from these small atomizers! Now, several discussions can be found around in the #Brotherhood about suitable number of sprays for different scenarios, (ex. here, here and here), but what about the spray quality itself? I’m sure this is important and goes toward the expected performance and usage of said fragrance. Nobody likes to have poor performance because of Ejection Dysfunction!! The volume of fragrance dispensed by atomizers (milliliters per spray) can vary significantly based on several factors, including the design of the atomizer, the viscosity of the fragrance, and the pressure applied during spraying. Generally, atomizers are designed to deliver a fine mist to ensure even distribution of the scent, but the specific output can range from 0.07 ml to 0.15 ml per spray. Put another way, one can expect anywhere between 7 to 15 sprays per ml of fragrance in typical atomizers. Higher-end atomizers might offer more consistent and controlled sprays (think Christian Dior frags), whereas cheaper models could be less precise, potentially resulting in a higher or lower volume per spray. Additionally, some fragrances are more concentrated, requiring less product per application, which can affect the perceived volume needed. This variation can influence both the longevity of the fragrance bottle and the intensity of the scent with each use. Smaller fragrance atomizers often deliver a reduced amount of fragrance per spray, which can negatively impact the overall performance and longevity of the scent. These atomizers are typically designed for portability and convenience, but the smaller spray volume can result in an uneven application, leading to a less intense and shorter-lasting fragrance experience. The reduced dosage means that the fragrance may not fully develop its top, middle, and base notes as effectively as it would with a standard atomizer, potentially altering the scent profile and user experience. Moreover, users may need to apply more sprays to achieve the desired effect, which can deplete the product more quickly and diminish its value. Thus, while smaller atomizers offer practicality, they may compromise the fragrance's performance and longevity.

I usually account for a loss in performance when i use samples. FBs last ~1-3 hrs longer than usual
SOTD: Forever Wanted  Absolu by Azzaro 19/03/2026
So it's not on official release here, but I seriously doubt the bosses from a certain retain chain are monitoring Skool, so here goes my Initial review of Forever Wanted Absolu. The soon to be released flanker is the latest in the Wanted lineup & a hell of a lot better that it's predessesor despite the similar bottle. Thankfully though the juice is so different. This will be the 10th release in the Wanted line, and it moves away from the bright, fruity sweetness of previous iterations & leans heavily into a boozy, smoky, resinous vibe. There does not seem to be any perfumer credited with the Absolu release, this seems to be a common practice for many of the L'Oréal Luxe releases. Although I have heard a whisper that Quentin Bisch and Nadège Le Garlantezec may be behind this one. Both have worked on previous flankers. Despite a simple note pyramid, there is more going on than meets the eye, or in this case nose! It opens with duo of incense. It starts with Frankensence for a sharp, smoky, almost mineral opening. This is the darkest of the Wanted line. As the incense settles, the Whiskey Accord takes center stage. This isn't a harsh alcohol scent. it is smooth, aged & slightly spicy. It adds a grown up character. The base reveals a drydown of Vanilla & Amber Woods. For a creamy, gourmand dry-down that gives some of that signature Wanted DNA but with more weight. But there is more, the notes that don't get a mention but add support to the structure of the fragrance. At the core I get a touch of Lavender & Clary Sage for that Fourgere backbone then in the base there are traces of Cardamon & Cypress. Performance wise I'm at about six hrs on skin, but can easily detect in on clothes the. Next day. It projects well for the first 2 hrs before settling into a reasonably good scent bubble. This is perfect for the Cold weather and formal wear. If you enjoyed the OG wanted, but find it to young then this might be for you. I'll be sticking with TMW parfum as the best in line.If you already own it, this may be redundant unless you specifically want a smokier, less sweet version of that scent.

Even i wasn’t very hopeful after the initial reviews. But ill still hold my thoughts until i give it a try.
New samples and tryouts
Got a bunch of samples from my last store visit: - Boss The Scent EDT - Montblanc Explorer (new batch) - Terre d’Hermès EDP Intense - Moncler Pour Homme & Femme (couples duo) - Moncler Sunrise EDP I also tested two fragrances in-store. First was Maison Margiela Up At Dawn. It’s an airy, earthy, musky rose. Very uplifting and clean. Feels properly unisex to me, though for a lot of people it would probably lean feminine. If you like rose, this is a must-try. It smells like walking through a fresh rose garden like it says on the bottle. Then I tried Scandal Elixir. Opening has a really nice cherry note. It feels like JPGs take on Stronger With You Powerfully. From a first impression, Absolu is still my favourite flanker. Same core perfumers here, with additional support from Louise Turner, which is interesting given her iconic work on Lost Cherry. I think this one needs a full skin test. It feels like it could evolve quite differently off paper. Definitely one I want to try properly before warmer weather kicks in.
