40% response rate on Skool
I got coaching on the sales call this morning and it was amazing, as always, thanks @Michelle McCartney ! During the call I explained how I’m currently cold messaging Skoolers to offer help with a tool my husband built (and that has already helped past Skool Game winners!) Michelle asked me to share the message, since I’m currently seeing a 40% response rate to the first DM. 🤩 Here’s the breakdown of my process: Step 1: I try to join their free community and see if they have an auto-DM. That gives me a good sense of their style, lets me see what they offer in the free group, and saves me from using one of my “break the ice” DMs (since we only get 10 per week). Once I’m in, it goes one of two ways: They either have an auto-DM or they don’t. Option 1: They have an auto-DM Here’s what I send: I love how you’re using this free community to give people a taste of your paid offers! Many owners I’ve talked to mentioned that Skool’s single auto-DM is quite limiting. My husband and I built a tool that fixes that. It sends follow-ups until someone replies, helping you activate more free members, move them into the paid group, and keep retention high without extra manual work or people slipping through the cracks. Would you be open to me showing you how it works? I also try to include something personal and specific about their mission. For example: “Thank you for the warm welcome! I love what you are doing here. My mom had long COVID and it was so hard for her to recover. I wish she would have had access to a program like yours at the time.” (This one got me a connection to the owner via their VA!) Option 2: They don’t have an auto-DM Hi xxx, I joined your free community and noticed there’s no auto-DM. One thing I’ve seen from talking with a lot of Skool owners is how powerful DMs are for activating new members, guiding them into the paid group, and even keeping engagement high once they’re inside. Since Skool only allows one auto-DM and no real follow-ups, my husband and I built a tool that fills that gap. It sends follow-ups until someone replies, helping you stay consistent without extra manual work.
