I wrote in the newsletter yesterday that I wanted to focus a bit on Sales for the next week or two. As we grow our businesses with products or services, we need sales to grow and thrive. Here is a little exercise to get us all started, no matter what field you're in. Monday Motivation: Start Your Week Where the Sales Already Say “Yes” Most businesses don’t have a sales problem. They have a focus problem. Too many creators, founders, and organizations spend their week chasing new audiences… while ignoring the audience that’s already raising their hand. So today, we begin this week’s Increase Sales Challenge with the single highest-impact move you can make: Identify Your Best Audience Segment Your best customers are already telling you who they are. Your job is simply to listen. Here’s your Monday action: 1. Look at your recent activity. Check your last 30–90 days of: - Purchases - Booked services - Donations - Email clicks - Social DMs - Community engagement 2. Identify patterns..... Ask: - Who buys most often? - Who spends the most? - Who refers others? - Who engages fastest? 3. Define that segment clearly. Example: “Gay men 35–55 who engage with my Instagram Stories and purchase digital products within 48 hours of release.” Or: “Queer-owned small businesses that book consulting packages after attending a live workshop.” "Audiences that found my show on ______" 4. Name this segment. Give them an identity: - “Core Community Clients” - “Power Buyers” - “Founding Fans” Because once you name them... you can build for them. Why this matters When you know exactly who converts: - Your messaging sharpens - Your offers land faster - Your marketing spend drops - Your confidence rises
