Going back to basics is sometimes needed to be able to progress again. I realised that in Handstand! Was doing brainless free standing kickups without having the right understanding of finger and hip work...
What’s one thing you want to commit to this week?
Hello warriors! New week, new chances to come closer to your goals! 🔥 Before life takes over, pause for a moment. Not what you should do… but what will actually move you forward? Take 5 minutes. Breathe. Choose one intention. 👉 Choose one thing and comment one thing you’ll focus on this week. I'll start: For me, this week is about consistency and excellence, but not in the cliché motivational sense. I used to believe excellence came from pure discipline powered by willpower.But here’s what I’ve learned: willpower is not the engine. It’s the spark. Yes, consistency needs discipline, and discipline can drain willpower.But relying on willpower as the main driver is a losing game. It’s a limited resource. It gets tired. It fluctuates. The people who stay consistent aren’t the ones with the strongest willpower.They’re the ones who created systems that don’t require much of it. Excellence isn’t about how much willpower you have, it’s about where you remove friction, what you commit to, and what you’re willing to sacrifice. Your resources are finite.Your identity isn’t. This week is all about finding time for my other loved sports: I will join a Crossfit class with friends and will go skiing. So it does not always have to be Calisthenics only, it's also important to give space for other activities in live. For the mind and heart ❤️😄 Of course I will still have my 3 handstand sessions, so I am not losing completely track of my training.
Static holds - when does it count?
Hey guys! Due to some ellbow issues, I got a bit forced to focus more on Back-/Frontlever the past few days. I tried a full Backlever for the first time (I usually go for straddle or one leg). When analysing the video, I asked myself, after how many seconds you count a static hold as success? And yess, I was swinging too much and legs might been a bit too low 😅 so I did not count this one 😉
