This one has been divisive, misunderstood and underestimated since its release. It’s a gourmand original from the brand, that nobody knows what to expect of and the first sniff will not tell what this fragrance really has to offer. The opening does make justice to its name, offering that rich signature chocolate and nutty aroma, that is quickly blended with the vanilla sweetness and the aromatic spiciness of the cardamom, preventing the fragrance to be perceived as a mere chocolate scent. The first hours my coworkers were perceiving it as cookies’ smell. As it dries down, the aroma turns to a more creamy, sweet, and ambery scent, with good projection and longevity. This one is very easy to wear, very addictive, alluring, compliments getter, cooler weather appropriate (year round IMO), any occasion.

This is quite a simple fragrance, but very interesting and easy to wear. It’s pretty much a sweet and sour, green, tart citrusy and woody blend. It does have a bit of its original classic DNA, but only as a backdrop. Its freshness and woody accents make it inoffensive, elegant, appealing, versatile and masculine. Although “Night Time” is part of its name, it doesn’t scream “night” in comparison with their more recent counterparts. It can be used for any occasion, is ideal for warmer weather, and has average projection and longevity, lasting for time on clothing than on skin. Declared Notes: Rhubarb, bitter orange, and cedar.

A classic that is well regarded and valued by collectors and lovers of traditional masculine perfumery, that contributed to settling the path, standards, worth, and prestige to the modern designers’ high-end perfumery. Obviously, it has been reformulated who knows how many times, and probably being modernized to make it more wearable for many, while keeping some of its original character, and this is its latest presentation (mine came with a golden details instead of silver.) The opening does have that iconic vintage herbal aromatic feel. After half an hour, it starts transitioning to a more common modern and masculine aroma distinguished by woody, spicy, and ambery with a touch of a sweet undertone. It’s suitable for cooler weather, any occasion, with average projection and longevity. Declared notes: “An aromatic freshness, a woody-ambery sensuality Basil, Sage Cedarwood, Amber.”
