SOTD: Odyssey Homme Black by Amraf 04/03/2026
Without a doubt this gotta be the best bang for your buck winter fragrance in the Amraf line up. It's certainly the only Odyssey flanker that Took my fancy, & I've had my nose on most of them. Hate to throw it into the clone pile but imagine this? Tom Ford's Noir Extreme went on a night out & did some horizontal DNA swapping with that good looking bottle of La Nuit de L'Homme. This would be the result of that thrist. The scent profile is a journey from a dense, sweet opening to a creamy, woody dry-down. With top notes of Ambergris & Vanilla, you get a rich, warm, slightly salty sweetness. It hits the nose with a thick airiness rather than a sharp citrus burst. At its core Iris, Oriental Notes & Spices This is the soul of the fragrance. The iris adds a powdery, lipstick like elegance, similar to Dior Homme. Whilst the spices mimic a warm chai latte. As it settles into the drydown with more Vanilla, Leather & Jasmine. The leather adds a masculine edge to the base, while the vanilla rounds everything out into a smooth & creamy finish. This performers reasonably well, with 6hrs on my skin, I'm not complaining. On clothes, the vanilla and amber base notes can linger for days. It projects well for the first 1.5 to 2 hours. It creates a noticeable scent bubble without being too cloy or overbearing, making it ideal for date nights or formal evening events. Strictly for Autumn or Winter use. If you love the warm, spicy, and powdery DNA of high end designer scents but don't want to drop €€€ Odyssey Black is a top-tier alternative. It smells more expensive than it is. My Rating 8/10 Scent 2.5 Longevity 2.5 Sillage 2 Y/N 1

SOTD/VS: PDM Althair vs Liquid Brun Limited Edition by French Avenue
Good Morning Fragrance Family from chilly, cloudy, slightly gloomy Chicago. Still, we woke up, and that alone is a blessing. Carpe Diem. Seize the day with joy and vigor because someone did not make it to see today. Gratitude changes everything. Today I’m doing something a little different. My scent of the day is a head to head comparison between Parfums de Marly Althaïr and French Avenue Liquid Brun Limited Edition. In the opening, Althaïr is brighter and more refined. You can tell the quality of the ingredients is slightly elevated. It feels smoother and more polished. Liquid Brun, on the other hand, has a slight synthetic edge for about thirty seconds before settling down nicely. Now let me cook for a minute. Where Althaïr is brighter and streamlined, Liquid Brun is deeper, richer, and more mature. The lavender in Liquid Brun adds a subtle floral nuance in the top that gives it more dimension. Althaïr can lean very vanilla forward and sometimes border on cloying in certain spaces. Liquid Brun tones that sweetness down and feels more balanced and versatile. Some may say owning both is redundant, but wearing them together tells a different story. They actually blend beautifully. The brightness and refinement of Althaïr paired with the depth of Liquid Brun creates a well rounded scent bubble. It even pulled a compliment from my wife, and she rarely comments on my fragrances, so that speaks volumes. Performance wise, neither needs heavy spraying. Four to six sprays is more than enough. Anything beyond that is catastrophic. Projection is outstanding on both. Sillage is impressive and noticeable. Longevity is slightly better with Liquid Brun at about 10 to 12 hours on skin and longer on clothes. Althaïr gives me a solid 8 to 9 hours, which is still very respectable. For me, Althaïr leans more daytime. Liquid Brun plays better in the evening. A light spritz of Liquid Brun over the remains of Althaïr is a winning move. Final scores Althaïr 8.25 Liquid Brun 8.75 for its deeper, more mature composition.

Interesting!!! Sounds like a great experiment.
YSL Y EDP
Last minute decision this morning. I only have 10ml sample. And haven’t been wearing it. Because I have Hamsah blue and south slope and the are quite similar. I also have 9am Dive. I see the ladies Y fragrances at the rack stores but not the men’s.

Awesome! 👏🏼
Afnan: Tobacco Rush
Today I just needed a fragrance with a heavy scent profile, and this one it’s exactly that. This one is compared to Carolina Herrera Mystery Tobacco, but I haven’t tried it, it might just be very similar scent profile. But this one it’s a powerhouse. The website notes are: Top Notes: Warm Spicy, Tobacco and Woody Middle Notes: Sweet, Fresh Spicy and Lavender Base Notes: Amber, Cedarwood and Oud. The opening definitely shows its tobacco and spiciness along with some of the sweetness. The dry down deepens the sweetness and spiciness enveloped by amber, woody nuances, then the spice tones down to the backdrop without being obliterated, to leave a beautiful sweet tobacco, spiced and woody scent. This is a grown up, acquired taste, manly and strong fragrance. Projection and longevity are no joke. I just love this stuff.
