House of Dastan - You
House of Dastan You was a surprise standout for me—one of several HoD samples I received recently after picking up a few fragrances from MaxAroma. I put it on casually after getting home from work, before dinner, and within minutes my wife couldn’t stop complimenting me, which is always the most honest form of feedback. By the end of the evening, it was clear this bottle no longer belonged to me; I’m fairly certain she’s officially taken possession of this fabulous scent. The composition is unlike anything I’ve smelled before, blending juicy pear and fig with a creamy milk accord that feels soft, comforting, and quietly addictive. Anchored by sandalwood, jasmine, and tonka bean, it comes together as a smooth, intimate, and modern fragrance that feels both familiar and entirely new at the same time.

I have a sample of this also. Maybe I’ll break it out tomorrow
Radical Rose Extrait by Matiere Premiere
Scent of evening for me needed to be uplifting and decadent. My eyes instantly went to this one. It checks off all the boxes. While I still consider myself learning this profile after about 4-5 solid wearings I feel confident in my assessment of it at this point and wanted to delve deeper into it. It’s absolutely not your grandmothers rose based frag gentleman!!!!!! Created in 2024 and still readily available. Spicy-floral and absolutely rose forward this opens as a powerhouse. While I like the EDP, I had to go Extrait as FBW for my needs and wants. Resinous and spice give balance to the beast that sings ROSE from the mountain tops bringing balance and harmony that I really have never found in a rose composition. Yes things like my Amouage Taif Rose Attar(sadly discontinued long ago but happily I still have), is also amazing although it’s a different animal entirely to an Extrait. Therefore I don’t feel it fair to compare them together. Also they are completely different in profile. So let’s breakdown the frag. 2-3 sprays is absolutely plenty and anymore may choke yourself out much less any company with you. Sillage is amazing and the bubble is easily 6-10 feet. Have you ever seen someone roll around in those huge inflatable balls where people run into each other? This is like that. Projection you ask? Oh god this isn’t for someone trying to by inconspicuous at all. Filling an entire room and could very well precede you into a room with the right wind current. 😂 Longevity???? On skin easily 7-10 hours on skin. Clothing may take a second washing to dissipate. I’ve yet to meet anyone that didn’t love this frag and have received numerous compliments on it both men and woman. Absolutely able to be worn as a year round frag. The only knock on this is the price. At around $300 USD per 100ml that may seem steep at first but I ask you to consider how long a frag will last that you only need 1-3 sprays to fill the room??? How long does a cheaper price and quality frag last where people routinely spray 6-12 sprays and have to reapply??? So did you actually save money on the cheaper and less quality frag???? I vote no every time. My theory is if it doesn’t last or needs so many sprays it could be an edt or body spray it’s not worth my time.

I hope at this point the brothers are aware of the blue beast. The frag that really blew up Amouage in the west in 2012. This is now my second bottle of it. And absolutely a staple in my wardrobe for 3 1/2 seasons. Warm and smokey. Resinous, incense, woods and leather. Yes it has a Catholic church vibe to it and I love that. For myself I could not imagine not having this one. I will admit though the new formulation of this from my OG from 2012 isn’t quite as powerful as it was sadly. I went from needing two sprays for all day and into the night to 4 sprays for 7-8 hours. I do find that irritating. I find the parfumo rating of 7.8/10 obscenely low though. The old formula was a solid 9.5/10 for me. This version I give 8.7/10 due to the decrease in performance and increase in price point. Definitely a frag I personally feel anyone new to frags should try. It opens doors to your mind of what frags should be if all you have smelled is YSL or Dior etc. what say you brothers?

SOTD: Y Iced Cologne
I got this new one in yesterday and took it for a spin. This one reminds me of Y Eau Fraiche or EDT. This one has that classic Y DNA with a Minty opening with sage and Patchouli. This one is work safe / spring / summer/ daytime / casual. This one lasted all day about 8 hours with good projection of about 2ft of my skin. Presentation is the Y Bottle but nice a clear one with blue juice and a very good atomizer. This one may be redundant for some. Smell to make your own determination. I plan on spraying them side by side with the other ones that I have. I like this one for an office / spring summer time use. 8/10

Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio parfum
Fresh, citrusy, zesty (bergamot), spicy, marine/aquatic, salty opening Definitely has the OG DNA More mature, mass-appealing, easy-grab Good projection and sillage Not overwhelming or overpowering Great for the office and large outdoor gatherings Best for Spring and Summer Earthy (patchouli), woody, a bit incensy (less than the edp), mineralic on dry down Opaque matte-black at the top and fading into a translucent glass base; black magnetic cap; great atomizer; refillable Great longevity Prominent for 2-3 hours and stays as a skin scent for 2-3 more hours Great overall performance I would highly recommend ADG parfum ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Is it redundant? YES.. if you have the other flankers, you definitely do not need this one.. if you are a big fan of ADG, definitely grab it..
