ONE DAY OR DAY ONE?
Hey brothers, I wanted to share this video with you guys and get your honest feedback šŸ’ŖšŸ½ This is actually the first video I’ve ever made in DaVinci Resolve, and before this I had never used Adobe or any editing software at all, at the most Cap Cut… so I’m literally starting from zero with this. And honestly, for my first one, I feel pretty satisfied with how it turned out. That being said, I know there’s a lot I can improve, so I’d love your opinion. How does the color grading look to you? Does it feel good or does it look too heavy/saturated? Do you think I should go for something more soft and natural? I used Zedan’s powergrade as a base, but I had to tweak a lot (due to the lighting in my video and a couple things of personal taste). At the beginning the highlights and exposure were completely blown out because I filmed outside and there was way too much light. That alone taught me that from now on, whenever I shoot outdoors, I need to use an ND filter to control the light. I’m currently using a DJI Osmo Pocket 3, so it’s a pretty basic camera, but it gets the job done for now. In the next few months I’m planning to upgrade to something like a Sony, Lumix, or Fuji. One of the hardest parts was trying to balance the overexposure, the shininess of the skin, and just the overall brightness. I had to isolate the skin, work with different layers, adjust lighting… it was a whole process, oh man... that fucking skin lol. But beyond all the technical stuff… I tried to communicate something in those 14 seconds. And while I was editing, I realized this message isn’t just for others, it’s for me too. I’ve spent a long time wanting to become a creator and inspire people, and over the past few months I’ve finally started taking real action towards that, making sacrifices along the way. At the end of the day, everything comes back to this: "One day… or day one?" I’d really appreciate your honest feedback. Anything you see, anything I can improve, I’m open to it. And if you have any tips, I’ll take those too.

Very good bro šŸ‘Š And trust me, with time you’ll get faster and cleaner with it
First color grade, roast me
Hey guys, just finished my first color grade and would love some honest feedback. Top clip is the grade, bottom is the original. Shot on iPhone 15 Pro in ProRes LOG (converted with CST for a fair comparison). I spent way too long on this and at this point I can't tell if it looks good or if I've been staring at it too long. Fresh eyes would really help. What would you change?

Its good g, however for the full color grading experience LOG on a full frame camera cant be beat. For iphone footage, I woudl say less is more. Bit of contrast, saturation and adjustment with shadows and highlights is enough

@Spike Dodd — vlog posted, sales video edited, new video filmed… and did you get clarity on your short form? @Angel Lebron — did you lock in the exposure settings and get more comfortable with the FX30? Keep it simple. Reply: āœ… finished or āŒ didn’t finish + what blocked you Let’s see who’s actually creating šŸ”„
Looking for brutally honest advice
I’m looking for unfiltered feedback on my Instagram content. Who knows it may improve your eye for content as well šŸ’Ŗ I’m biased because I made it to think it is better than it really is šŸ˜… My IG is @spikejourney https://www.instagram.com/spikejourney?igsh=MW9xMzVvZHg1dmd5ag%3D%3D&utm_source=qr Here’s what I want to know: 1. On a reel of mine if it came up in your feed organically, would you stay past the first 3 seconds? Why or why not? 2. How is the overall content positioning on my page? Would you follow it? Why or why not?

It’s not about how hard you’re working, it’s about how well people can relate to what you’re showing. If they don’t see themselves in it, they scroll. That’s why I also do iPhone content. It feels more real and relatable, and it brings more followers
