See me as I am, and respect the reality of my human experience.
Reconnecting with the authentic self through somatic awareness and Vipassana.
Hi, I’m SooKyung—an artist and meditation guide. I'm here because I’ve experienced, through Vipassana and personal healing, how deeply the body guides the mind. I believe somatic awareness is key to reconnecting with the authentic self, and I’m excited to grow and explore this path with you all.

@Ms. Kookie Boston In my humble experience, I feel that many of us have been practicing somatic awareness without even realizing it had a name. For example, when tears come unexpectedly and we feel lighter afterward — it’s often the body releasing something old, something we’ve carried silently. In those moments, somatic awareness invites us to stay with the feeling, to listen with kindness to what the body is expressing — not through thoughts, but through sensations. And Vipassana, in its own beautiful way, teaches us to observe these sensations without judgment, knowing they arise and pass. It brings clarity through stillness and reminds us of the ever-changing nature of all things. I’m still learning, and this is simply what I’ve come to understand so far. But I truly believe that as we continue walking this path — whether through the body, breath, or awareness — the light grows clearer within us. I hope this reflection brings something gentle and useful to your own journey.

@Adam Carbary Thank you so much for sharing this — it’s beautiful to hear how your practice has been helping you reconnect with your authentic self. I truly feel that too… In my humble experience, somatic awareness has been such a quiet but powerful guide. Sometimes it's as simple as noticing tears or a sensation in my chest — and instead of pushing it away, just staying present with it. The more I stay with what arises in the body, the more I feel like I’m meeting parts of myself I had forgotten or overlooked. And when I weave that with moments of Vipassana-style observation — just witnessing everything come and go — a deep clarity begins to unfold. I feel we’re both walking this path in our own way, and it’s so encouraging to hear your story. I’d love to keep sharing and learning from each other along the way.
