Are Loafers Now Cool?
I did a search to see if this article had been discussed. Didn't see anything but then, how do you get the search to show the newest results first? That said, have the younger crowd ditched sneakers and rediscovered loafers as stylish? "The Loafer’s Big Generational Shift" https://www.esquire.com/style/mens-fashion/a70333866/loafer-generational-shift-trend-2026/ "“About 18 months ago we noticed the big fashion brands started to delete sneakers from their runway shows.” he (British shoemaker Tim Little) told me (the author of the article Nick Sullivan) over a steak au poivre at our seasonal and very unfashionable haunt in Bastille one night. “At the same time, we started hearing from our retailers that our youngest customers were bypassing sneakers in growing numbers and asking what they could get for their budget that—specifically—wasn’t sneakers.” Trends have their lifespan, of course. For Little this was something else. “I think it’s also partly fatigue” he told me. “As if that younger generation has grown tired of the endless drop culture in sneakers and maybe even a sense of nostalgia for a time—at least in their minds—when style wasn’t constantly being shilled at them. Buying shoes that will last past six months is an appealing way to escape that endless fast-fashion cycle.” --- I haven't bought a pair yet, but they are on my radar in the thrift store runs.

I'm on a loafer journey now. Leather, suede, vintage, etc. I love the comfort, simplicity and ease.

Cool day here in Los Angeles area. Lots of video calls, so I went for a full suit. I'm also wearing one of a few new CT shirts were I went from 16.5/35 Regular fit to 16/36 Slim fit. They fit much better. Except this new to me suit need to have the sleeves let out a touch (there's room, thankfully). The outfit is a gray suit with brown accents. I would not have envisioned it working well together, but it does seem to work. As always, critiques are welcome! @Raymond Reeves Either Amazon or Ebay. Seems like it was a cheap one from Amazon.

@Raymond Reeves I found this beautiful Brooks Brothers on Ebay. Can't wait to wear it! It should arrive tomorrow.
Dinner out at the country club
Attire for a cold night out at the club. Layers! Black turtleneck under a navy crew neck sweater. Dark grey wool pleated trousers. All under my camel wool blend overcoat and black/white newsboy cap. Not visible, my Allen Edmonds Kiltie loafers.

@John C Thank you, sir!
Is is Vanity, or Self-Improvement?
My loving wife has raised a valid point, asking why I'm always taking "selfies" and posting them. I've tried to explain that it's not vanity; it's a highly scientific process for Project: Develop Awesome Style. By documenting my outfits, I'm creating a visual database to track what works and what makes me look like I got dressed in the dark. So, team, I put it to you: is this an advanced personal development strategy or just a terminal case of vanity? I await your expert opinions.

For me, it is one of many aspects of my personal development and/or self reinvention. Weight loss, fitness, etiquette, quest for knowledge, style, etc. As well as self-reflection in photos and deeds. These are all positive aspects of myself that I want to carry into my 60s.
