Has anyone photographed a snake?
Has anyone photographed a snake? I had some call today and wants their albino hognose baby snake photographed. It’s about 12”. We’re doing it tomorrow. Any tips or tricks? I’m not afraid of snakes and think it’ll be kinda cool. Just want some ideas to try out. Thanks!

@Ina Jalil, I had no choice but to learn a bit about them lol, my son insisted ;) We've had ours since the day before the world shut down...

@Suzy McCracken once you get some solid shots, you'll have time to play and get creative. I photographed a bearded dragon once and wish now that I'd had the thought to play with more surfaces. Have fun!
🚀 LIVE WORKSHOP: Plan Your 2026 Workshop (Dec 17th)
Hey everyone! It's that time of year. You're looking back at 2025, and maybe you're feeling one of two things: 1. "Wow, that was a whirlwind. I'm exhausted, and I have no idea how to make next year less chaotic." 2. "I hit some goals, but I feel like I was just winging it. I need a REAL plan for 2026." If either of those sounds familiar, I've created something just for you. Introducing: The Plan Your 2026 Workshop This is a LIVE, 90-minute workshop where we will plan for 2026 with intention. This isn't about setting vague goals and hoping for the best. This is a hands-on, reflection-based planning experience designed to give you clarity and a plan for your most profitable and fulfilling year yet. By the end of this workshop, you will have: ✓ Clarity on what to let go of and what to double down on. ✓ Your 2026 Identity & Theme: A guiding principle for the year. ✓ Your "This Time Next Year" Vision: A compelling picture of your future across YOU, BUSINESS, and LIFESTYLE. ✓ Specific Revenue & Session Goals: The numbers you're actually working toward. ✓ Your Big Rocks Map: The non-negotiable anchors for your year (professional & personal). ✓ Your Q1 2026 Focus: Your top 3 priorities to start the year with momentum. The Details: - Date: Tuesday, December 17, 2025 - Time: 9:00 AM Sydney time - Where: Live on Zoom. Details in the Calendar tab - Investment: FREE for the Pet Photographers Collective members Can't make it live? The replay will be available for US$27, or you can get it for free when you join the Premium Membership. This is for you if you're tired of reactive, last-minute marketing and you're ready to plan your 2026 with intention. This is NOT for you if you're looking for a magic bullet or you're not willing to do the work. Why I'm Doing This I see too many talented pet photographers get stuck in a cycle of overwhelm and inconsistent bookings because they don't have a plan. This workshop is designed to break that cycle.

@Ina Jalil if we add it to our calendar, does that mean we're registered?

The #1 thing I want to achieve in 2026 is confidence in my business (which I plan to achieve through finding and offering products I love and believe in, pricing that's profitable and that I feel good about, a marketing calendar that leads to consistent bookings, the implementation of systems and practices that support my business, delegation of tasks that just aren't my strength and continued involvement in community in groups like this that motivate and create opportunities for sharing information, brainstorming and collaboration.) That counts as one thing, right? ;)
FESTIVAL MARKETING
I'm having a major prize draw at this Sunday's Pets Life Festival, I'm attending. Would love to hear what others have offered at events like this. I'm thinking a major prize of a $1000 voucher (session plus $750 credit). Then runner-up vouchers of $500 (session plus $250 credit). My prices start at $750 for an 11x14 wall piece. I've also donated a voucher to the event organisers for a fundraising raffle on the day. The winner has to be there when it's drawn and come and visit me.

@Jo Lyons this is beautiful! I'm scrolling the group for inspo for an upcoming event and found your post. This is stunning! Love the shirts too! I've ordered a hoodie from Canva and was pleasantly surprised by the quality

@Jo Lyons I'll be giving the ts a try in the new year. So, do you sell shirts or gift them to your best clients? Also curious what easels you purchased? I display my wall art on easels but they are not a style that elevate the look. They're fairly inexpensive black metal easels I found on amazon. Did you go with true art easels- the brown wood ones? I know you shared a video of your stall, just need to go back and find it ;)
My experience video
@Ina Jalil My video is finally ready! I’ve loaded it to YouTube so you can take a peek and now I’m just working out how best to launch and optimise it. https://youtu.be/CSusJQgSpfs

@Jo Lyons it definitely felt authentic :)
Would love some feedback before I get these printed!
Hi all, I have a market coming up in December so I'm getting everything that needs to be printed organised and I feel like I'd like some feedback on the visuals. 1. Which cover image works best? 2. Is it too much on the inside to show all awarded images? Or should I add a broader variety? Thank you in advance!
Would love some feedback before I get these printed!

@Anthea Proudfoot is this a template you found and adapted in Canva? Design it from scratch? Etsy?
