HTML OVER .md Files
A Claude code Eng just dropped this. Anyone been doing this switch yet or will try? Curious to see what @Jake Van Clief has to say. It’s a file still just a different format. Same thing right… thoughts? Pros and cons? Here to learn and discover https://x.com/trq212/status/2052809885763747935?s=46&t=Ayzo8Ebbgb8PZhLNm057bg

html has allot more filler in it. if your concerec with token efficiency then it is not the way to go. md is not jsut token efficient. but plain text readable. you dont need a special editor to read it. you can just read it without a bunch of cognitive load. my personal take. bad idea. I've been considering trying to come up with an even more token efficient mark up language. but its on the back burner as i am more focused on making a trello~ish project managment with agent calling in teamide .

Open Source Models for 'Offline' Use
I want to start off that I may not be using the right terminology here, so bear with me... The more I interact with claude and other LLMs and then interacting with the people/users that are pretty far away from anything on this community (I do share the youtube channel all the time), the more I see an opportunity to find a way to use these open source models to create a 'co-work' that can be used inside a closed environment (offline) for two reasons: no real issue with token usage/cost (other than the set up and build and you can swap out models) and then most ppl that I connect with that want to learn how to use AI they are not able to use claude or some other model bc of IT and security reasons. I guess my question is, does this make sense or what am I missing? I am in the process of building this for myself to see whats possible but would be interested to get others input and thoughts, because I am not from the developer world, but i like it here, ppl are nice :)

Honestly, as someone that trains my own models. When I'm working with already trained models off Hugging Face, I just use Ollama. It's simple and it works. You can use Aider or OpenCode with it. And if you start a chat with Claude about your setup, Claude can walk you through what you can and can't run as well as what to expect. I am an expert in this specific subject matter, so if you need pointers feel free to ask.
WHAT are you building? Tell us!
Some of you are building right now. You're building a workflow, or an app, or an automation. If you're not a scaredy-cat, tell us what you're building!!!! I'll go first... MY PASSION PROJECT: I am building a free app for independent house cleaners everywhere, so they can professionalize themselves. MY REAL WORK: Otherwise, I'm building automations in my company that are were previously being done manually by an administrator. We're in a hiring frenzy, so I just built workflow automations that tracked where every candidate was in our pipeline, while simultaneously assessing them on communication and skills and moving them forward if they responded. My main admin was actually so happy I figured this out, because she usually has to go through resumes one by one to filter out all the obvious NO's, which takes many hours. I can't wait to know!

just got done building a custom ai harness to allow a model to parse and answer questions from an fcc Data base. working on training my own model from scratch. redesigning git to work better with ai. and the list goes on.
Website migration
Small W but a W nonetheless. Had a website provider I’ve used for years $99/mo with boiler templates. Most people in my industry use it because it’s “optimized” for that industry. I never customized content other than the landing page with our brand and voice. Created a workspace for the website migration to take our brand and design from the old site. Did some SEO research so we could migrate and improve at the same time. New website setup $0/mo using GitHub and netlify. Saves me more than a VIP membership monthly! Stages inside the website workspace 1_SEO: researches a plan for website content 2_copy: writes copy based on seo plan 3_ux: checks ux flow of content with goal of form fill out being success 4_analytics: measure traffic and form fills to test success of SEO plans from research. Now to ditch the $200+/mo CRM *MCP friendly shell* Not building one from scratch

"Engineering Challenge": Finding Time Between Diapers and Development
I often post about my wins with Claude Code or the progress on my book project, but there’s one part of the equation I haven’t touched on yet: Time. I’m lucky enough to be able to build a little during my work hours, but my primary focus is still being a Finance Manager. The real work happens when the house is finally quiet. But here is the reality: I have a 3-year-old and a 9-month-old. If you’ve been there, you know. My "second shift" starts after they are tucked in, but it’s always a gamble. Especially with a 9-month-old—you never really know how the night is going to go or how many times you’ll be woken up. The Internal Conflict: I’m a natural "A-person." I love waking up early and feeling fresh. But to get anything done on my private projects, I often have to push late into the night. I’m constantly trying to balance three things that all feel non-negotiable: Family Time: This is my fuel. I refuse to sacrifice being present with my kids. Sleep: As an early riser, I need sleep to function as a Finance Manager and a dad. Development: I have a deep drive to learn, build, and move my projects forward. The truth? Most days, it feels like I can only pick two. If I work late on a website or an automation, I’m a zombie the next morning. If I go to bed early to be a "good dad" at 6:00 AM, my projects stand still, which frustrates me. It’s a constant puzzle of trying to be "efficiently lazy" with the few hours I actually have. I don’t have a "5-step master plan" for this. I’m just navigating it one night at a time—sometimes winning, sometimes just trying to stay awake during a meeting. How do you guys balance this? For those of you with young kids, demanding jobs, and big goals—how do you find the space to create without burning out or missing the "golden years" with your family? I’m curious to hear how you prioritize when everything feels equally important. 👇

@Allan Durhuus i don't not look down on you at all. you already have what many men dream of. very very few people are in any sort of position to look down on you, and the few who are in that position understand and have zero judgment. I hope my post didn't come of as judgy. that was not my intention.

@Allan Durhuus we have the exact same culture here. I never took a "real job" I've always been self employed. Because i was militant about saving we always looked broke. you just gotta ignore these people and do whats right for your family. the only people that mater are your wife and kids.
