The Future of Software Development and AI
Hi everyone, I recently had an interesting conversation with a fellow software developer who expressed concerns about the future of our industry. With AI advancing rapidly, some are questioning whether software engineering and AI development will remain secure and high-growth career paths. Personally, I believe software development and AI engineering will continue to thrive, and the demand for skilled professionals will only increase. Fields like AI, machine learning, and automation are shaping the future, and companies worldwide are actively investing in these technologies. As someone preparing to start a BSc in Applied AI at 32, I’m excited about this journey but also understand the uncertainties many people might feel when considering a career in tech today. What do you think about the future of software development and AI engineering? Is studying Computer Science or AI still a smart choice? How do you see AI impacting programming jobs over the next decade? Do you think automation will replace software engineers, or will it create new opportunities? Let’s have an open and insightful discussion your thoughts and experiences could help others who are unsure about starting this path! Looking forward to your insights. Thank you for your time.🙂

AI Engineer
Currently in the pre start up phase of my automation agency, using n8n & ChatGPT to build out templated ai agents and workflows ... Alongside learning programming to delve into becoming a full time AI Engineer using code to build out custom projects !!!! excited for this new journey. Lets connect ☺️

On a similar path as well. Currently focused on Python (OOP: classes, objects, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction), RAG, and the workflows and common patterns as described in Anthropic's "Building effective agents". On the no code side, I'm also learning Make and PickAxe. About to build my first two "simple" solutions (code, and no-code) to one "simple" problem a warm lead has. Also going to build a simple RAG system to help me with AI bug bounties.
Anaconda installing issues
I tried all day to install Anaconda3 on my VMWare / Windows10. I cant start the program and CMD, Promt, Powershell or Bash cant see the program. Python yes. I deletet the installation 3 times and cleaned up everytime. I gave the VMWare more ressourcer. I tried to install it with CMD. Under installation it stops in the end and take quit long time. And yes, I create manual path to the program too, tried 3 different. I can see the folder where it is, but no reaction. And yes, Im adm on the VMWare and my whole developer environment is there and working. Please come with some advise.....

Did you try starting it using Anaconda Navigator? (Start -> Anaconda Navigator). I'm not familiar with using Anaconda on Windows but from the Linux terminal, I start it with two commands: conda activate (to activate base environment if its not active) anaconda-navigator Try these 0) Confirm the location of Anaconda installation C:\Users\YourUsername\Anaconda3 ?? C:\ProgramData\Anaconda3 ?? 1) Did you add Anaconda installation to the System PATH and restart the terminal?
Invaluable Books for Building LLMs and Apps from Scratch
"What I cannot create, I do not understand" - Richard Feynman Interested in deeply understanding how LLMs and GenAI apps work under the hood? This insightful video and these books make a compelling argument that true mastery comes from not just using AI tools, but understanding their foundations—enabling you to build robust and reliable AI applications that solve real-world problems. https://youtu.be/379s4W_EaTk?si=MLceAwTBDEQhAKJj 1) Book Title: Build a Large Language Model from Scratch Author: Sebastian Raschka 2) Book Title: AI Engineering: Building Applications with Foundation Models Author: Chip Huyen 3) Book Title: LLM Engineer’s Handbook Authors: Paul Iusztin, Maxime Labonne Although AI content (e.g. tool usage) in books may quickly become outdated, the core principles remain essential for understanding how AI works.

Agentic Autonomy Levels and Security
Interesting read. Key takeaways to keep in mind: - As AI systems become more autonomous, they become harder to secure - The most dangerous risk arises when autonomous AI can access external tools without oversight - Threat modeling should focus on data trustworthiness and tool security. https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/agentic-autonomy-levels-and-security/
