Business Casual used to basically mean sport coat, dress shirt no tie. Today this definition is incredibly nebulous since the vast majority of guys are not wearing ties these days. I believe the key to developing a suitable personal style of business casual involves three things 1) be aware of your environment. The three Fs Antonio speaks about Fit, Fabric and Function all apply here but the main focus is Function. In other words based upon the venue and culture at the event-what one wears when and where to a specific function should be understood by every gentleman attending. 2) intentionality. Be Intentional with your ensemble. For me simply not wearing a tie to the luncheon I attended today might be enough to be business casual-but to me, showing up with a blue OCBD or point color dress shirt, Navy blazer, and grey slacks would feel like I simply ran out of the house and forgot to put on a tie. Consequently to go to a community Luncheon my wife puts on at our church each month then returning to the house to complete paper work -felt like a perfect day to go Business casual. With temps slipping back up to the low 90’s I grabbed a brushed cotton burgundy blazer Orvis duck cloth khaki jeans-cut trousers, Orvis cut and sewn shirt, silk P Square to tie in the colors of the pants and burgundy coat , Indiana Jones Alden Boots and my Borealis dive watch. 3) Consistency, Each of us differ based upon our respective personal style and career. When @Richard Pollock wears a Chambray blue shirt with chinos or jeans that in my line of work too might be too casual to be even be business casual. Contrastingly for Richard, when he is going out on sites his ensemble may be comparatively the same as me wearing a three piece suit if attending a meeting with a group of trust attorneys and a client. He is dressed in his full armor like I and a coat and tie am dressed in mine. (Maybe adding a sports coat over his great Chambray shirt is better comparison to my trust attorney example🤷🏻). The details are less important than the consistency. Richard’s customers and guys he interacts with have become used to him looking sharp and from what I gather when he orders his company logo gear, and chooses classic fabrics, he is possibly the best dressed guy in his meetings. (9 out of 10 times I am as well for my meetings). Point is. Each of us are in our respective business attire. It’s how we interact in our roles-not the garments themselves. So to reiterate his professional attire differs from mine but serves the same function and each of us are pretty consistent. So for me today’s outfit for a business /community luncheon is pretty casual based upon how folks consistently see me through out the day-day after day. (I still had a few million dollars of clients assets in that room😉). This is the consistency part.

Taking care of a recall on my company vehicle this morning at the dealership, then meetings locally. - short sleeve khaki button down with company logo’s - Brown leather belt - Slim straight fit blue jeans - Brown Chelsea boots - Black metal band Garmen watch with classic watch face.

Busan: A Kaleidoscope of Coastal Charm Our time in Busan was defined by vibrancy and innovation. We spent hours wandering through the colorful, winding alleys of Gamcheon Culture Village. Known as the "Machu Picchu of Busan," the hillside community is a stunning tapestry of street art, hidden sculptures, and bright homes that seem to spill down toward the sea. Every corner felt like a new discovery, offering a perfect blend of artistic spirit and local life. We also took in the city's modern grandeur by visiting its tallest skyscraper, the LCT Landmark Tower, which also houses the world’s highest Starbucks, located on the 99th floor. To catch a different perspective of the coast, we hopped on the Sky Capsule pods. Gliding quietly above the coastline in those charming, colorful carriages gave us a peaceful vantage point to watch the waves roll in. It was the perfect, relaxing contrast to the bustling energy of the village and the heights of the tower. Nagasaki: The Intersection of Eras Crossing over to Nagasaki felt like stepping into a layered history book. We started with the elegance of Glover Garden, where Western-style houses and sprawling greenery overlook the harbor. It’s a beautiful place that tells the story of the merchants and engineers who helped usher in the era of Modern Japan. You can almost feel the influence of global trade and cultural exchange that shaped the city’s unique character. However, Nagasaki is also a place of deep reflection. Visiting the Atomic Bomb Museum and standing near the Hypocenter was a heavy, somber experience. It is a stark, essential reminder of the city's resilience and the tragedy of the past. Walking through those grounds, we were struck by the quiet dignity of a city that has rebuilt itself while honoring the memory of what was lost. We are now sailing Toward the End of our cruise as we spend our next day at sea. It will be a much-needed moment of quiet to process everything we had seen before preparing for our final arrival into Yokohama Port on October 10th.

Leveled up day. Some cooler weather and newly promoted detectives 1stcday abd he said he would be wearing a tie. Tommy Hilfiger grey sports jacket with white presidential fold pocket square and Trilogy Award lapel pin over a white cotton linen Charles Tyrwhitt shirt. Brooks Brothers tan wool pants. Black Anson belt with silver buckle and black Tecovas boots. Orient panda watch and Spice Bomb.

Busy day today. Starting off 45 degrees and heading to the office early. Warming up to mid 60’s. This afternoon I’m heading to the city for a few meetings and then dinner with my best friend. Having a best friend means different things to different people. But he is the brother I got to choose for myself!! So all is good. He mentioned to me this morning to make sure I dressed well so I wouldn’t embarrass him 😂😂 like that would happen. He was joking of course as he knows me too well. The embarrassment will come but not from dressing. It could mean that our childish behavior Will accomplish that all on its own!! 😜 Since he laid the gauntlet down my evening outfit is an odd jacket and trousers with a pale blue dress shirt and tie with pocket square. And brown cap toes with a mirror shine. And not pictured is my Panama! We’ll see what he has to Say now! 😂
