Is AI art becoming too saturated?
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some honest thoughts from people who sell digital products, printable art, or AI-assisted designs on Etsy. Do you think AI art on Etsy still has long-term potential, or is it becoming too saturated? I’m also wondering whether the next generation of buyers may start avoiding AI-generated art, either because it feels less authentic, too common, or because they prefer human-made/handmade work. For anyone selling in this space, what would you focus on now? Would you lean more into personalization, bundles, physical products, templates, stronger branding, human-edited designs, or moving into a different niche altogether? I’d appreciate any honest opinions from people who have seen trends rise and fall on Etsy

@Samantha White “If you are making a poster of a cat asking if im pooping then yes you are in a saturated market..😅” love this 🤣 cause I think we all know which ones you’re talking about. It’s impossible to miss them 🤣
Public Domain Images
Hello everyone new to the group, just going through the material, can anyone tell me if Public Domain Images are free to use on Etsy or would it be a trademark violation? TIA

Public Domanin images are normally free to use.
another one from me
I have been using claude code to generate posters using higglefield AI but I know most people here use midjourney. The standard higglefield prescription only gives me 100 nano banana image generations a month and then i pay £18 a month for claude code. I know I am early with my store but would people recommend switching to midjourney and canva?

@Samantha White works just fine so no complains 🙃
I've been scammed!
So! I've just been conned! £490! As a person, I feel miserable! As a "businessman" I feel stupid and As a "newbie" I have lost confidence in the Etsy platform! However, I have learnt a massive lesson! Don't get excited about the "sale" and start pressing buttons! Ok, so this morning I received a message from "Matt" saying that he had bought one of my posters, with a link to set up payments. This is the scam! Looking at it now, I should have known that anyone asking how much you have in your account, isn't Etsy! But, I'm new, I was excited and I have no idea how Etsy works! Be careful guys! There are some horrible people out there!
I've been scammed!

@Laura R it was very relevant, but that's ok, you don't have to get it. Let's leave it at that.

@Laura R you are blowing it out of proportions when is not necessary. “Let’s leave it at that” was the cue for let’s end the unnecessary conversation as it brings no value to the scope of the group. You can continue if you want, I on the other hand will stop debating here, especially on moral grounds, since our backgrounds are different, as I was trying to explain earlier, and we see things differently. I think my reply to this thread was perfectly fitting, as in the past 5 days from this thread, three more appeared for the same type of scam, which shows exactly my point, that a lot of people don’t read these forums.
Refund request
Has anyone dealt with a situation like this on Etsy? I’ve had 117 orders and this is my first refund request. The customer received a poster on 26 May and has now opened a help request on 9 June (today) asking for a refund, but hasn’t actually explained the reason yet. I’ve replied asking them to explain the issue and provide photos if there’s a problem with the print. Just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences and how you handled them. Did it turn out to be a genuine issue, buyer’s remorse, or something else?

@Richie Bromley it is up to you if you accept the return or not depending on your shop rules? Do you accept returns? If your shop rules state that you do not accept returns, you can inform the customer about this, although it might be followed by a bad review if the customer doesn’t take responsibility. If you accept returns, but this reason is not eligible, you can inform the customer the it was printed to order and unfortunately it cannot be resold once it was opened. You can also offer a partial refund for this scenario. This can also be followed by a negative review. For this instance you can’t ask the customer to open a case with Etsy as this reason is not covered. If you don’t have enough reviews, you might want to accept the return, either by just refunding the customer and tell them to keep the poster, or they can return it at their own expense and refund after you receive it. You are more familiar with your shop circumstances so only you can take the decision.

@Richie Bromley I completely understand. I had a fair few who wanted a refund for the exact same reason.
