As a genealogist myself, I really enjoyed @lisalisson ‘s presentation on DIY family journal gifts and her suggestion about including family recipes. I made one a few years back for my eldest son, who is a professional chef. It had photos of each set of his grandparents for as far back as I could go. It also had some of their recipes and pics of their favorite culinary tools, some of which are currently in my possession. I’ve included a few pics from that journal. I’m starting another family recipe journal this year, for my stepdaughter (pink). It’s still in the early phases (see pic).

I love Jasmine's decorated champagne bottle. It looks so pretty! 🦋 My boyfriend makes batches of red and white wine as well as Jamaican rum cakes during the holidays. He bought all the winemaking equipment during the pandemic. He reuses wine bottles, and most of the labels have been removed from them. I am going to use this technique to make the bottles look prettier for our Christmas gifts! 🍷

Inspired by @Crystal Martin's finger knit pillow presentation, I finally pulled out this super chunky yarn to make the blanket I intended on ages ago! Watching both that video and poking through her website to see another on making a fingerknit blanket, I got rolling, but used a 19mm crochet hook as a stand in for my fingers/the non-existent knitting needles, so as to keep a little more uniform and stop shrinking my loops. Here goes nothing, thank you! update: playing with various loop holders to keep from collapsing and to help me increase gauge a little with the thinner braided yarn (held with two strands of black worsted)
