Hey hustlers! Here’s a hard-earned lesson from last holiday season.

I hired a “budget” overseas vendor for a big project-cheap, fast, 2-week turnaround. Sounded perfect. But delays, poor communication, and endless revisions turned it into a 2-month mess. By the time it wrapped, my peak sales window was gone. Lost about 20% in revenue ($4K) and spent weeks doing damage control. Brutal.

Lesson learned: never rely on one untested vendor. Now I work with 2–3 backups, add a 4–6 week buffer, and only scale up after small test projects. I also set clear deadlines (with penalties) and check reviews on Upwork or forums first.
