Hey everyone,
I’ve been getting a lot of emails and questions about the paid data capture project, so I wanted to post a quick follow-up and clear up a few things.
Yes — this is a paid opportunity.
We’re hiring hundreds of people from the CloudPano user base to capture simple first-person video data for a large study.
The project is very straightforward:
- We give you a list of normal daily routines.
- You put on an Insta360 X5 with a head strap.
- You live your life and record for about one hour.
- You upload the video to our pipeline.
- We process it for the study.
- You get paid per video.
That’s it.
You can create as many videos as you want. The faster, the better.
We’re starting with 200 one-hour videos, and we need a lot of people who can capture these at the same time once the project begins.
Right now, we’re still working through budgetary numbers, but anyone who sends me a reasonable quote per hour will move toward the top of the list.
A quick example…
I tested this myself around my house using a head strap and an Insta360 X5.
I made breakfast, cleaned some dishes, and made sure the camera settings matched the scope requirements.
Honestly, it was so easy I forgot I even had the camera on.
That’s what makes this opportunity interesting.
You are basically getting paid to do things you already do anyway.
You go through normal daily routines. That is exactly the type of footage we need.
When my wife looked at the list of activities, she laughed and said:
“This is my life anyway. Just give me the camera. I’ll get paid.”
And that’s the point.
This does not need to be overly polished, staged, or complicated.
It should feel natural.
We are looking for real day-in-the-life routines.
Some examples include:
🍳 Making breakfast or cooking
🧹 Cleaning and organizing
👕 Folding laundry
🪴 Taking care of plants
💻 Working from home
🎲 Playing board games with family
🐕 Walking the dog
🧘 Doing yoga or stretching
🚶 Walking trails or commuting
🏙️ Future commercial, park, and urban activity captures
Group activities are especially important.
For example, can you play board games with your family for an hour?
That is one of the activity scopes we’re looking to cover.
This first phase is 200 videos, but the project has potential to become much larger.
Future phases could include:
- 2,000 captures
- 5,000 captures
- 10,000+ captures globally
But we have to do a great job on the first 200.
Our biggest constraint is speed.
Once this starts, we need people who are ready to move quickly.
If you need extra money and you’re willing to get the right setup, this is a very simple way to participate.
The gear is not complicated.
You need:
✅ Insta360 X5
✅ Head strap / head mount
✅ Ability to record about 60 minutes of normal activity
✅ Ability to upload the footage after capture
If you don’t have the X5, you may be able to rent one, borrow one, or buy one temporarily while the project is active.
If you don’t have the head strap, get one now. They are often around $10, and that small piece of gear can unlock the entire project for you.
To move to the top of the list, email me at:
And CC:
In your email, include:
- Whether you already have an Insta360 X5 or plan to get one
- Whether you have a head strap / head mount
- Your quote per hour for simple at-home day-in-the-life routine captures
- Your city and country
- How quickly you could begin once approved

Bottom line:
This is a paid data capture project for CloudPano users, or anyone who wants to participate.
It’s simple.
Do life. Record it one hour at a time. Upload it. Get paid.
If you’re interested, email me with your quote and setup details as soon as possible.
We’re prioritizing the people who are ready, reasonable, and fast.
