Welcome Aaron! 🤙🏼
@Aaron Johnson Thanks for joining! How much are you gigging live (if at all) and what cities or towns are in your relative area? 👀 Tell us about your studio too! You own with your wife?
Introduction!
Hey everyone! I jus joined the group. I'm super excited to learn and grow in my ability to make a livable income from performing live. My wife and I are based in Wixom, MI right now. But we own and operate a recording studio in Farmington Hills, MI and have been really just wanting to help creatives like us to get their ideas professionally captured and released. I've struggled for a long time trying to figure out a way to make a living doing music because I know that I can't do anything else and don't want to, so when my wife sent me this link I was filled with hope! Looking forward to the journey and learning together!

What should I make a video on?
Everyone is so different, I’d love to know some topics you’re all wondering about? What are you trying to overcome at the moment, and If you had a magic gig genie, what would you task him with for the next two months? 👀🤙🏼
Just an idea!
Hey friends! I was thinking today about my Monday night spot and it dawned on me - even nice restaurants are typically slow Monday through Wednesday. But because they have good food, drinks & service, entertainment can really do well bridging the gap until Thursday - Sunday. When I started Mondays two years ago they had 50-60 people on average, and now we’re rarely under 100 even through the winter. (Definitely ask your venue managers and hosts “hey how’d we do tonight?” - when you walk in say, “hey! Any folks on the books?” It’s so good to start paying attention to all of these things) It helps you begin to understand your true value as well. These nice spots have built in crowds who typically come in on the weekends, but they WANT a reason to come in on other nights. So I encourage you to find the NICEST restaurants & lounges near you, and pitch them Monday - Wednesday “laid back live music”. You could pick some famous movies and pitch “movie soundtrack Monday” - I totally wanna do this with the Forrest Gump & Pulp fiction soundtracks!! GET SOME MONDAY-WEDNESDAY GIGS AT ALL COST. If you can do that, and make $200-400 per night or work towards that, it’s gonna set you up so nice to be making double on the weekends and 4 times that for private events. Go in for lunch to these nice spots on the days you’re thinking you want to pitch. Have a meal or try some specials, connect with the bartender. Always sit at the bar for scoping a venue. Let’s find a Monday gig for everyone by June. Places love starting new ideas in the spring!
Welcome Carly!
@Carly Keyes I’m so excited to hear about where you’re at exactly in your music career - I’ve seen you become more active on socials and booked a recent gig. Amazing! Now let’s chat either here or via text/call about how much music you have for gigs, your sound system, your surrounding areas, and I’m going to set some goals for us. (I’m going to find you some gigs in your area to contact as well) Since you’re my first sign up! 🤙🏼🎶
