Clue 2 connundrum

I’m on re-start #3 and am away from home for a long weekend. I’ve just realised I forgot to bring the yarn I wanted to use as a highlight in the ‘woven’ section (rows 20-30) of Clue 2 and for my neckline. I’m away from home at a cozy cabin for 3 more days and was hoping to catch up on my knitting.

Could I knit up to that section, save it on a spare cable, cast on clue 3 with scrap yarn, and graft those parts together with those missing 10 rows once I’m home?

Or is that just crazy talk?
