Why projects stall and what actually helps
I have been thinking about how often knitting and crochet projects stall and how much quiet guilt we attach to that. A project gets put down for a day. Then a week. Then it lives in a bag while we tell ourselves we will come back to it soon. In my experience, projects do not stall because of skill or motivation. They usually stall because life changes, energy dips, or the project asks for more decisions than we have space for. A few things that genuinely help when something feels stuck. Try reducing the project to just five minutes of stitches. No finishing, no fixing, just five minutes. Change the context rather than the project. A different room, chair, or time of day can make a surprising difference. And ask one honest question. What do I need from this project right now. Enjoyment, learning, or something easy to hold. I am curious, when a project stalls for you, what usually helps you move forward or let it rest without guilt?

@Jane Hough that's a lot.. but the cardigan is worth it i assume. I have a shawl in hibernating since 4 years. This one is a double knitting piece. At the half of it i lost interest in the pattern. It needed an inspiration... So i changed the pattern a little and knitted the next part... Almost finished, only 10cm left... May be i try the 5 minutes idea and finish this one. Let's wait..

The Mystery Yokealong is back!
Our Mystery KAL is officially back for year three! We’re knitting a top-down round yoke sweater (or a steeked cardigan) together over seven weekly clues, kicking off on January 16th. This year, we’re leaning into stash-busting, so feel free to start hunting through your yarn collection now. You can get all the details on the Ravelry pattern page or here on Skool in the dedicated Classroom where I’ll also be posting all the relevant video tutorials as clues become available. We’d love for you to jump in and share your yarn picks, questions, and progress photos. Just use the "MYAL 2026" category for your posts. Heads up: we aren’t doing spoiler alerts this time, so feel free to post away in whatever way you like just as long as it is in that category! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with this year.

@Sue Hobbs that's a whole new world of creativity... Lucky me a friend of mine is also into spinning. And for a handknitted wish of her i get handspun yarns for my own...

@Zanete Hussain now i'm very very curious... Right, today is the 16th of january?? Let's get started ...😉
Overwhelmed with stash!!
Thoughts on these combinations? A is the cream color, C is purple, and B is green or gold.

It's an important question. Sometimes helps a grayscale. Just a black and white picture tells you a lot about contrast and intensity.. both combinations Look great!

@Sara Richards i like your yarn ideas very much. And surprisingly the olive green and the lighter blue are almost the same at the greyscale. Very interesting.. i've learned by try and error and was later on sooooooo happy for the greyscale.. now it's my go-to by the search for a combination... Happy knitting.. i'm curious which choice you'll take...
Mystery Yokalong Rujuu Sweater
Looking forward to this knit along, first one I have done. Had a deep dive into my stash, Colour A Malabrigo Sock Pearl and some oyster coloured mohair from an online shop, Colour B Malabrigo 4ply not sure of the colour and sage green mohair, Colour C Knit Picks Pallette currant, Malabrigo anniversio and a Zauberball buntmetall, Colour D Malabrigo, not sure of colour and blended with New Zealand 100% Alpaca in a charcoal. More thank likely will tweek the colours when the knitting begins. PS.have change colour A to a rose pink mixed with mohair, did not have enough of the Malabrigo pearl and could not get any in of that colour in New Zealand. Also using the rose Pink for colour D as well.

Looks great!
Yarn considerations
Playing around with options. Considering the grays for A (maybe trying to pair the very light purple fingering with a light gray fingering), the greens as B, and the dark purples for C. Not 100% that they all work, but it's my first attempt.

Hej Trish, i like your idea for the colours. Combining a gray with a light purple yarn Sounds great! I'm looking forward to your sweater... Are you are going for a sweater? Or will you knit a cardigan?

@Trish Harris i'll knit the sweater version. More often i grab for a sweater then a cardigan. But the steeking is a nice detail...with the destashing in mind i'll go for red with cream in variations... Which of Zanetes pattern have you knitted recently? I know about the yoke meditation 6 , like i was also part of the group..
