I was Talking to a Client the other day who had mentioned he overhear me say to someone the lesson I relearned was simplicity. It was something i lived by and have realized i veered away from. I have been catching myself overcomplicating things. The problem is often we look at things we do not understand and overcomplicate it. Today was not a good day. I watched multiple coworkers get handed walking papers. “Thank you for your hard work, but the company is restructuring, and your services are no longer needed.” Nothing about restructuring makes it less personal. I convinced people to move thousands of miles to be a part of something that was supposed to be so much bigger than all of us and now here we are. I reframed the reframes today trying to see the opportunities that lay ahead. I’m still standing (thank you for that) and today I’m looking ahead of me, not behind me. I heard somewhere that windshields are bigger than rear windows because there’s more to see in front of you than behind you. I guess I need to see some of the past and use it to grow and learn from, but whoever said that was right. One door closes so that others may open. The writing is on the wall, but this was supposed to happen for me, for us.
