How Yaprendí Society Works
This community is here to help you use Spanish, build confidence, and connect with other learners—without feeling like you're back in Spanish class feeling the pressure to be perfect. Every week, we have a simple rhythm: 🎯 MONDAY — Set Your Goal Start the week by choosing one Spanish goal. Maybe you want to practice speaking, learn 10 new words, listen to a podcast, or finally use that grammar concept you've been avoiding. (🎯 Goals & Accountability tab) 💭 TUESDAY — Yaprendí Que Share something you've learned, noticed, realized, or are still figuring out. “Yaprendí que…” / "Ya aprendí que" “Estoy aprendiendo que…” etc... Your learning doesn't have to be perfect to be worth sharing. (💭 Yaprendí Que tab) 🗣️ WEDNESDAY — Let's Talk This is our space to connect. You'll find conversation prompts, Real Talk questions, cultural discussions, and opportunities to get to know the other people in the community. (Here's where I'll also share something about a specific Spanish- speaking country) (🗣️ Conversations & Community tab) 🧠 THURSDAY — Spanish Practice Every Thursday, we'll put something specific into practice. I'll share grammar tips, vocabulary, pronunciation, mini lessons, challenges, and resources you can actually use. (🧠 Spanish Practice tab) 🔥 FRIDAY — Check In How did you do with your goal? Share your wins, your struggles, what you learned, or what you're taking into next week. And don't forget to celebrate the small wins. They count! (🎯 Goals & Accountability tab) 💬 WEEKENDS — Connect Catch up on conversations and challenges, respond to another member, ask a question, share something you're watching/listening to, or just hang out and spark new conversations. (Choose any category) 🏆 And btw… there are incentives for participation! Every week, I'll be paying attention to the people who show up and contribute to the community—not just the people who post the most. That could mean: 🌱 Sharing a thoughtful "Yaprendí que" post 💬 Encouraging another member or sparking a dialogue

Yaprendí que...
Hola mi gente... listen, this space is all about reflection. We are not trying to be perfect. We are sharing what we know with other people along the same journey. No pressure. Come to this space whenever you learn something new and you want to share with the community! You may have something to share that others need to learn too! Begin each post in this space as follows: "Yaprendí que (insert something new you learned)" If you want to be gramatically correct because you are working to improve your writing skills in Spanish- you can write "Ya aprendí que..." instead. Consider the following for your posts in this space: Anything you’ve learned or realized recently about: - a new vocab or grammar concept in Spanish - your process and what is helping you or keeping you stuck - interactions you've had in Spanish and what they taught you You can write in English, Spanish, or Spanglish.

Listen, my apologies for missing yesterday- I had a lot of things to handle at this new school I am teaching at- had to get oriented. Here is what I meant to post yesterday: Can you name and describe 5 items in your home? This week's theme is "las cosas del hogar". Let's share what we know!! If you're at an more intermediate level- try to find items that are less common (and learn what they are called!)... looking forward to seeing what y'all find en la casa (and maybe learning something new myself)!
