Introductions!
Hey everyone - I’m Laura (also known as LC), writer, worldbuilder, and chronic idea-hoarder 😂 I mostly write fantasy/sci-fi/romantasy with big emotions, morally grey characters, and way too much lore. I created this space because writing is better with people who get it. A weird/unique fact about me: I keep my notes app nearby for middle of the night thoughts... and wake up the next morning with sentences like 'the dragon story should be told backwards' and 'show the invention of dreams'. Such useful stuff 😏 Your turn! Reply below with: ✨ name/pen name 📍 where you’re from 📚 what you’re writing 🌀 one weird/fun fact about you Can’t wait to meet you all ✨📖

Well howdy - I’m so glad you’re here 🖤 This is a relaxed, supportive writing club for fantasy, sci-fi, romantasy (and anyone who loves big worlds, big emotions, and great storytelling). Writemare meant to feel like a real writing club - not a course, not a hustle, not a productivity grind. - come share work - get feedback & beta readers - talk plot problems - join writing challenges - gush about characters - do little workshops & prompts - build momentum together - and ultimately... get freakin' nerdy. It’s free on purpose - I wanted something flexible, low-pressure, and genuinely helpful. Show up when you can. Disappear when life gets busy. Come back when inspiration hits again. All welcome here. 👋 A little about me I’m Laura - a hobby writer who loves fantasy, sci-fi, romantasy, big intense emotional arcs, deep characters, and worldbuilding rabbit holes. Like most of you, I juggle writing with life, responsibilities, and about a million ideas at once. I built this because I wanted the kind of community I always wished existed - friendly, creative, real, and not intimidating. 📚 How to get started - Introduce yourself in the pinned 'Introductions!' post in the Announcements channel - Check out the workshops (short & practical) - Jump into feedback swaps when you’re ready - Join events or challenges whenever you feel like it There’s no right way to be here - just participate in whatever feels helpful or fun. I’m really excited to grow this little writing club together. Let’s build worlds, break hearts (fictionally), and finally finish some stories (at least that's what I'm telling myself!). Welcome to Writemare 🖤

Requests for Feedback: RULES
Hey writers! This channel is for sharing short sections of your work and getting supportive, constructive feedback from other members of the community. ✅ How it works: - Share up to 5k words or less - Let us know what kind of feedback you’d like (plot, pacing, characters, prose, vibes, etc) - Once 3 people have commented saying they’ll read, that post is “full” - lets spread the love around - After you’ve had 3 readers, avoid reposting the same piece so others get a turn. Of course, if people want to read more privately after - totally up to you both! 💛 Community vibes: - Be kind, honest, and constructive - Specific feedback > vague praise - We’re here to help each other level up (Optional but encouraged: try to give feedback on at least one other piece before posting your own) Can’t wait to read your worlds, characters, and stories ✨📖
The Art of Writing Romance
Being a romance author is more than writing love stories, it is the art of capturing human emotion in its purest form. A romance writer has the unique ability to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable experiences, creating characters who inspire readers to believe in love, hope, healing, and second chances. Every page written is an opportunity to touch hearts, spark imagination, and remind people that connection still matters in a fast-moving world. Romance authors do not simply create fiction; they create emotional journeys that readers carry with them long after the final chapter ends. The path of a writer is not always easy. It requires discipline, creativity, vulnerability, and courage. There are moments of doubt, long nights of rewriting, and challenges that test passion and persistence. Yet, true romance authors continue writing because storytelling is not just a hobby — it is a calling. A great romance story has the power to comfort the lonely, encourage the hopeless, and inspire readers to open their hearts again. That is the true strength of this genre: it reminds people that love, in all its forms, is worth fighting for. To be a romance author is to believe in the beauty of emotion, the strength of connection, and the magic of storytelling. It is a profession built on passion, creativity, and the fearless pursuit of touching lives through words. Keep writing. Keep dreaming. Your story may become the reason someone believes in love again.
Lets take note of this as an author
If you have a book on Amazon or any other platform and it’s not performing as well as you expected, here are a few key areas to review—along with practical solutions: 1. Reviews & Ratings Are your reviews strong enough to build trust with potential readers? If your ratings are low or limited, it can significantly impact sales. Solution: Consider working with a marketing professional who specializes in book promotion. Share your current challenges and ask how they can help improve visibility and generate authentic, quality reviews. 2. Promotion Strategy, Have you actively promoted your book? If so, who handled it—an experienced professional or someone less specialized? And were the results satisfactory? Solution: - If you’ve tried promotion before without success, it may be time to work with a more experienced and trusted expert. Be transparent about your past efforts so they can adjust the strategy. - If you haven’t promoted your book yet, partnering with a reliable professional can make a significant difference in reaching the right audience. 3. Overall Book Quality, Before publishing, it’s important to thoroughly review your book. Even small errors can affect reader experience and credibility. Solution: Revisit your manuscript for editing, formatting, and consistency. If possible, involve beta readers or a professional editor to ensure everything is polished. 4. Book Cover Design, Your cover is often the first impression—does it look professional and align with your genre? Solution: Invest in a high-quality, visually appealing cover that clearly reflects your book’s niche and attracts your target audience. If anyone would like further clarification on any of these points, feel free to share in the group so we can discuss and support each other. If you’re unsure who to trust or where to start, you’re welcome to ask for guidance here as well. And if you’d like, I can also connect you with experienced professionals who can help—just let me know.
