Plate Stories Ep. 1
Hey all! Wanted to start a series sharing plate history of plates I have in my collection. Would love to see others share these if they have them.
My favorite plate in my collection is the 1957 Alaska my grandpa gave me with a handwritten note. He was stationed in Ft. Richardson (gotta find the Fort Richardson topper in the first photo!!) and had this on his '51 Studebaker Champion. After his deployment completed, he and my grandma were ferried back to Washington, and made it halfway back to WI before it threw a rod in Aberdeen, South Dakota. They picked up a 1941 Hudson for $75 (!) and made it the rest of the way back to WI. I also have the 1957 SD plates from the Hudson, but no pictures.
