Happy Monday! Start the week with a bang!!
Our brains generate thousands and thousands of thoughts! And our modern brain, our frontal cortex lives to analyse and solve.
All great attributes, but not all the time. It can drag us into negative cycles which get harder and harder to break.
Think of our thoughts as a river. Flowing downstream. We have 2 options. Jump in and grab the thoughts and wrestle them. Or sit on the bank and observe. Be a witness.
Mindfulness teaches us to step back. To disengage and to observe. It teaches us how to get out of the flow and sit by and observe without judgement. This allows is to choose what we do next. Take action? Or let it go? Whichever is right for you in the circumstances. But at least now you have the option.
