Win of The Week (WoW) - Trauma & The Body
Attended an absolutely great and informative talk on Tuesday “The Science of Trauma & The Body” by Dr Angela Kennedy. Was such a quality event. Learned loads, got lots of knowledge reinforced and reaffirmed and renewed my energy for learning. What’s your WoW

Self Kindness is a Skill
Happy “hump-day”! A reminder that if you feel like you’re having a tough time, I guarantee that you are not alone. But it is also a fact that when are feeling like this, we often feel disconnected and isolated. Either from not wanting others to know. Or from not wanting to burden friends or family. But connection and support are a fabulous way to deal with these emotions. At weir mindful we hope to build a “we”. “Weir” connected, “weir” mindful, “weir”kind, “weir compassionate, “weir” available. If you want to learn more about Mindfulness or want to learn how to practice mindfulness in a safe space with other like-minded people, like, join the community comment.

Getting Trapped in Thoughts
Happy Monday! Start the week with a bang!! Our brains generate thousands and thousands of thoughts! And our modern brain, our frontal cortex lives to analyse and solve. All great attributes, but not all the time. It can drag us into negative cycles which get harder and harder to break. Think of our thoughts as a river. Flowing downstream. We have 2 options. Jump in and grab the thoughts and wrestle them. Or sit on the bank and observe. Be a witness. Mindfulness teaches us to step back. To disengage and to observe. It teaches us how to get out of the flow and sit by and observe without judgement. This allows is to choose what we do next. Take action? Or let it go? Whichever is right for you in the circumstances. But at least now you have the option. Do you observe or engage? Comment, let is know, amd maybe we can chat around scenarios, options, tools to help us all disengage.
