Welcome to Natural By Design: Water-Wise Xeriscaping School
Hey everyone, I’m John, founder of Natural By Design here in Utah. I’ve spent years designing and installing landscapes that save water, support pollinators, and help people actually enjoy being outside again. I started this community to teach real, practical ways to build beautiful yards that work with nature instead of against it. Utah is running out of water, but that doesn’t mean we have to live in gravel deserts. The right design and plant choices can give you color, texture, and life all year long while cutting water use way down. This Skool is for homeowners, DIYers, and landscapers who want to learn how to do that. I’ll show you how to design low-water landscapes, how to pick the right plants, how to convert old sprinkler zones to drip, and how to make your yard a space that gives back to the soil, the bees, the birds, and the world around you. In the Community, you’ll find short tips, starter plant lists, group discussions, and project examples from my installs. In the Classroom, you’ll find full lessons, videos, and interviews with local experts like Norman from TBU International, Chad Midgley (the “Hobbit Hole Greenhouse” guy), and Cynthia Bee, who does amazing work with pollinators and soil health, along with many others. My goal is simple. To help people build yards that make sense in dry climates around the world, use less water, and still look incredible. Thanks for being here. Let’s make the world a little greener, one yard at a time. John
