Welcome to my very first watch of the month official tracking data. I was actually quite surprised by the rankings. In 1st place was the Steinhart Ocean One with 7 wears, followed by the San Martin GMT with 5 and the a 3 way tie for 3rd place with 4 wears each ( Erebus Ascent, G-Shock 5600 and the Spinnaker Croft )

Happy New Year - Top 5 of 2025
Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year! Figured I’d kick off the New Year with the Top 5 watches for 2025 #1 - Glycine Combat Sub - This is the watch that shifted my collection views the most this year! The 42mm 10.5 thick case, matte black dial wears so incredibly and goes with any outfit you throw at it. The 28,800 smooth sweep is such a joy to watch float by on the wrist. A week on the wrist personal challenge lead to a month on the wrist challenge leading to a less is more mindset, it made me consider versatility and quality over quantity of watches. With great brand heritage and fantastic looks I absolutely love this piece. #2 - Mido Multifort 38mm Gent - My first Swiss watch, my GADA companion. When I purchased this watch in 2023 I knew it was the perfect choice for me. The dial mesmerizes and plays with the light, the anthracite color way and compact case make it an absolute strap monster. #3 - Casio G5600ue - What’s can be said about a classic Square G that hasn’t already even said? MY only watch purchase for the year, the classic coloring with the solar module made this a no brainer for me. It is on my wrist most mornings and evenings for workouts and has replaced my cell phone on my night stand for middle of the night time checks. Simple, clean and rugged. #4 - Citizen Promaster Ecodrive - I had my eye on this diver for years before I ever purchased it. When I found it on eBay for $80 as a factory refurbished piece I knew it was meant to be. The short lug to lug really make this wear much smaller than it should, the Ecodrive quartz makes it an easy choice for a grab and go. Usually I have this on the Long Island Watch Jubilee making it a perfect business casual companion but this year it explored a lot more straps and spent a lot of summer days on my wrist. #5 - Militado ML-05 - I’ve always had an affection for classic military field watches and this one nails tha aesthetic! Wearing this one has made me realize how dependent upon a date complication I really am, but it’s become my casual low key day choice. Interestingly this is my wife’s least favorite in my collection but I love how simple and clean it is and the VH31 sweeping quartz movement is fantastic!

New Challenge: Styling My Leather Watch With My Winter Wardrobe
I realized I’ve been defaulting to my black metal watch with most of my winter outfits. It pairs easily with sweaters and hoodies, so it became the obvious choice. But this havan leather watch with a black dial deserves more wrist time. It’s understated, versatile, and fits winter better than I’ve been giving it credit for. So I’m challenging myself to style it with more outfits this season and use it intentionally instead of reaching for the same watch out of habit. It’s also one of those meaningful pieces — a gift that genuinely made my day when I first got it, along with other leather essentials. Giving it consistent wear just feels right.
