Why is this watch not more popular.
I've just been reading up on all the features on the Longines VHP this is such a cool watch. I think I need one of these. The Longines Conquest V.H.P. (Very High Precision) is widely considered one of the most advanced quartz watches ever made. While standard quartz watches are accurate to about 15 seconds per month, the V.H.P. aims for a different league entirely. āHere is a summary of its standout features: ā1. Extreme Accuracy āThe headline feature is its precision. The movement is thermocompended (it adjusts for temperature changes that usually affect quartz crystals) to achieve an accuracy of \pm 5 seconds per year. For context, a high-end mechanical chronometer might lose that much time in a single day. ā2. GPD (Gear Position Detection) System āThis is the "brain" of the watch. The V.H.P. constantly remembers the position of its hands. - āShock Resistance: If the watch suffers a heavy physical impact, the hands may move out of place. The GPD system detects this and automatically snaps them back to the exact correct time. - āMagnetic Protection: If the watch is exposed to a magnetic field, it will pause the hands to prevent damage and then reset them to the correct time once the field is gone. ā3. The "Smart Crown" āUnlike traditional watches where you "wind" the hands, the V.H.P. crown is electronic. - āSlow Turn: Moves the hands minute-by-minute for precise setting. - āQuick Flick: Causes the hour hand to jump exactly one hour forward or backward, which is perfect for changing time zones without losing your precise second and minute settings. ā4. Perpetual Calendar āThe watch is programmed to know the length of every month (including leap years) until the year 2399. You will never have to manually adjust the date at the end of a 30-day month. ā5. Energy Management - āLong Battery Life: The battery typically lasts around 5 years. - āPower Saving Mode: If you aren't wearing the watch, you can pull the crown out to put it in "sleep mode." The hands will stop at 12 o'clock to save battery, but the internal "brain" keeps counting time. When you push the crown back in, the hands spin automatically to the current correct time. - āEOL (End of Life) Indicator: When the battery is low, the second hand will jump in 5-second increments to signal it's time for a change.
