I've just been reading up on all the features on the Longines VHP this is such a cool watch. I think I need one of these. The Longines Conquest V.H.P. (Very High Precision) is widely considered one of the most advanced quartz watches ever made. While standard quartz watches are accurate to about 15 seconds per month, the V.H.P. aims for a different league entirely. ​Here is a summary of its standout features: ​1. Extreme Accuracy ​The headline feature is its precision. The movement is thermocompended (it adjusts for temperature changes that usually affect quartz crystals) to achieve an accuracy of \pm 5 seconds per year. For context, a high-end mechanical chronometer might lose that much time in a single day. ​2. GPD (Gear Position Detection) System ​This is the "brain" of the watch. The V.H.P. constantly remembers the position of its hands. - ​Shock Resistance: If the watch suffers a heavy physical impact, the hands may move out of place. The GPD system detects this and automatically snaps them back to the exact correct time. - ​Magnetic Protection: If the watch is exposed to a magnetic field, it will pause the hands to prevent damage and then reset them to the correct time once the field is gone. ​3.
