So I got a package yesterday from my Mom, who many of you know my brother and I moved into an assisted living facility last month.
One of the things we did to help with her memory care was we also moved boxes of our childhood things for her to go through so she could relive memories and share the stories with other residents and her medical companion.
So this package arrives yesterday with three watches in it. Knowing I'm neck deep in my addic-hobby, she thought I'd "like them back" π€§ She then shared stories with each watch. (Little dust in my eye, sorry.)
Today's watch started right up with a bit of manual winding. 50 m water resistance, mineral glass cover, stretch wrist band, date window.
According to Mom, I purchased this piece after graduating high school and getting my first suit for on campus college interviews with tennis coaches. You may remember Lazarus, my Dad's Timex with the stretch band.
Guess, I was thinking, "be like Dad". It must have worked for 1st impressions- I got the scholarship at Valparaiso University (although only played two years). Dad wasn't pleased.
Incredible the watch still works 40 years later.
