Introducing: The Vizzy D Resource Library 📚
I've been wanting to build this for a while, and it's finally here. The *Vizzy D Resource Library* is a shared space of books, podcasts, documentaries, readings, newsletters and accounts that have shaped how we think about death, grief and ceremony, built by this community, for this community. You can find it in the Classroom tab. It's not a list I've put together alone. It's meant to grow with whatever's actually shaping your practice right now, the book that changed how you show up with a family, the podcast episode you've sent to three colleagues, the poem you keep coming back to for readings. Inside you'll find a growing library of: 📖 Books 🎧 Podcasts 🎥 Documentaries & Films 🕊️ Poems & Readings ✍️ Newsletters & Substacks 🌐 Organisations & Websites 🎓 Courses & trainings 🎵 Playlists Comment below with all your suggestions! Just include what it is, who it's by, and one honest line on why it stuck with you. We're not after exhaustive lists here, we're after the things that actually changed how you think or work. This is one of those small, ongoing things I hope becomes genuinely useful over time. Curious to see what this community pulls together... Only love, Amy 🐦‍⬛

Social Media: Let’s all find each other out there 🐦‍⬛
Death care content can feel like shouting into the void sometimes - especially in the early days, especially on platforms that don’t always love what we talk about. So let’s make it a little less lonely… Drop your handles below - Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, wherever you’re showing up - and let’s go find each other. Follow, engage, share what moves you. This is how we build something together. 🐦‍⬛ I’ll go first: Insta - https://www.instagram.com/amyfirthministry TT - https://www.tiktok.com/@aussiedeathcarelady Facebook - www.facebook.com/amyfirthmusic The Visible Death Worker: https://www.instagram.com/visibledeathworker https://www.tiktok.com/@visibledeathworker Amy x

🐦‍⬛ Visible Friday #21: Y’all know this is more than a weekly email, right?
Darling Vizzy D's - hello, Amy here again - another week - whoosh! Three things for your Friday 👇 🐦‍⬛1 . Y’all know this Vizzy D Community is WAY more than a weekly email, right? Because if you’ve been dutifully watching these weekly emails trickle into your inbox but haven’t actually JUMPED INTO THE COMMUNITY… Come on over. The water is fine... Our virtual home on Skool is where all the good stuff is happening between the emails. There’s a whole chat thread full of gorgeous questions and conversations about things like: ✨ imposter syndrome ✨ how to create a meaningful ‘committal moment’ when there’s no coffin ✨ the slow trend towards direct cremation and what we’re noticing from our different corners of the world ✨ how we actually talk about death work online ✨ the stuff that comes up when you’re trying to build a visible, ethical practice There’s also a growing resource library, plus free classes including *How To Start A Death Café*. And perhaps most importantly, there are actual Deathie humans in there. People doing this work. Asking questions. Sharing what they’re learning. Saying, “Oh thank GOD, it’s not just me.” So if you’ve been lurking from the sidelines… Come and have a poke around: https://www.skool.com/visible-deathworker You don't need to have anything clever to contribute. You can just read. You can ask. You can share. You can say hello. But don’t miss the whole honking' community because you thought this Vizzy D thing was just a Friday email. 😉 🐦‍⬛ 2. HOLDING FAMILIES THROUGH ASSISTED DYING | Recording Now Available We held our "Holding Families Through Assisted Dying* webinar this week and… well, it was gorgeous. Tender. Honest. Nourishing. Thoughtful. The kind of conversation that reminds me exactly why I wanted to create this community in the first place. Because there is SO much knowledge sitting inside this community.

Imposter Syndrome
Even after working as a funeral director for 16 years, and a death doula for 3, when I hear a perspective client's story for the first time, I STILL freeze for a moment and wonder "what is it I do again?" Can anyone else relate? What do you do to regain your confidence?
