ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini.
OpenAI vs Sonnet vs DeepSeek.
Mac Mini vs Ryzen 4500.
You're going to see comparisons like this thrown around constantly over the next weeks, months, and years.
And if you're not a developer, IT WILL feel like you're behind. Like your systems. Like you need to restart.
Just to be very clear, THESE HEADLINES and comparisons every week are NEVER going away.
In fact, they will keep growing.
AI moves FAST.
Add in vibe coding + big institutional backing + open source...
You get unprecedented exponential growth that we have never seen before.
A new shiny object WILL show up every single month. Somebody builds something that crushes the competition for a minute. Then the competition catches up.
I remember 6 months ago when Claude was absolutely destroying ChatGPT on every benchmark. I moved ALL my infrastructure to Claude.
As of September 2026, that has changed. ChatGPT is back in action.
You see where I am going with this?
Every serious team is running the same playbook, using AI to close the gap on whoever's ahead. So the benchmark posts are real. The "which model is better" debates are real. They're just temporary.
What actually matters when you consider which platform you build on is:
1. Does the platform/tool have a good team behind it.
2. Does that team have a track record of catching up when they fall behind.
3. Can you actually get work done on what you have right now.
Most of the anxiety around this stuff has nothing to do with the technology. It's fear of missing out.
Don't rebuild your infrastructure every time a new benchmark drops. Don't feel guilty for picking "the wrong one." If the team behind your platform is good, THEY WILL catch up. That's the ACTUAL BET you're making, not on this week's/month's leaderboard.
Jumping from tool to tool just means you never master any of them and never finish anything.
Either you pick a platform and get good at it, or you spend your whole year testing platforms and building nothing.
More than the technology, you're betting on the people behind it.
DO NOT GET LOST IN THE SWAMP.
