In this lesson we break down one of the most common confusions among intermediate surfers: the difference between carving and cutbacks 🏄‍♂️ We go over what each maneuver is, what they have in common, and when to use each one depending on the wave. If you’re just getting started with these, our recommendation is simple: start with carving. Focus only on rotating back towards the inside, towards the whitewater 🌊no need to worry about the final turn yet! Once that feels clear and natural, you can start working on the turn back into the foam and move into cutbacks. Step by step 👌
