This week we’re moving from exploration to creation with Design Development – where all your hard work on research, drawing and experimentation transforms into tangible initial designs:
- Curate Your Experimentation: Learn how to identify and highlight the strongest elements from your sketches, fabric tests and mood work – we’ll show you how to pick what truly serves your concept.
- Translate to Designs: Master the art of applying those key details (shapes, textures, motifs) to actual garment silhouettes, construction techniques and print placements.
- Build a Design Narrative: Understand how to develop a cohesive collection of initial designs that tell a continuous story – no more random ideas, just purposeful creativity.
- Refine with Intention: Discover how to critique your own work and make smart adjustments that elevate your designs from good to exceptional.
By the end of this week, you’ll be able to take raw creative material and turn it into polished, concept-driven initial designs that showcase your unique fashion voice. This is where you start to look and think like a professional designer!
