We want to recognize @Lisa Balthaser as December's member of the month for truly going above and beyond! She shows up to calls with honesty, vulnerability, and expertise. Despite having a hectic work schedule, she tackles her weekly Super Seven and continues to move the ball forward as she redesigns her business to support small local business owners. Hello undependent community! I hope each of you enjoyed the slower pace of the holiday season. I truly allowed myself to unplug, to dedicate time with my family and children, and to move at a slower and more intentional pace. There were moments of guilt that I "should" be doing something more productive, but I stayed committed to allowing myself to fully decompress from a very busy year. What occurred because of this decision absolutely floored me. A traumatic memory was brought forward and seen in a new light. It revealed something about myself that I didn't realize has been there since I was very young. And it made me feel proud of who I am instead of broken. I also realized there are many systems that WANT us to believe we are broken. As undependent women, it's time for us to leave that behind. I shared this experience in my most recent Substack article. I hope it helps others realize that the we are not broken because of our difficult experiences. In fact, these are the moments where we can see our biggest strengths if we just look through a different lens.
