Thriving Moment of My Week
This week I reshared my How Visuals Help– my very first reel ever and only the second post on my Visually Speaking feed on Instagram. Back then, I had ideas, a lot of curiosity, and a hope that sharing visual communication might resonate with others. I didn’t have a website. I didn’t have clear ways for people to connect. I was just beginning. Watching it again reminded me how much has grown since then—not just the business pieces, but the confidence to keep showing up, keep learning, and keep sharing something I care deeply about. I’m grateful for the people I’ve met along the way and for spaces like this community, where connection and learning happen together. Creating visuals and invitations for connection that aim to make learning a little easier to understand is what Visually Speaking is all about! Sometimes growth doesn’t feel dramatic when you’re living it day by day. Looking back helped me notice that something I hoped for is slowly becoming real, and I’m thankful for that. ❤️ Have you revisited something recently that reminded you how far you’ve come?

Checking in with a small thriving moment 🌱
Hi everyone, Just popping in with a quick check-in. One small thriving moment for me this week has actually been realizing how much I’m learning about showing up in different spaces — whether that’s a video I’m working on, a conversation, or posting here. I’ve been working on a video about making time visible for learners, and it’s making me think a lot about how small shifts in communication can change the tone of a moment. Part of the thriving moment for me lately has just been trying to be present in the places where people encounter my work, instead of overthinking everything. I’m kind of everywhere at the moment, which can make me feel a bit scattered. I’m trying to focus more on the process of figuring out how I want to show up on each platform (YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.). Still figuring it out as I go 🙂 If you feel like sharing, I’d love to hear — what’s one small thriving moment you’ve noticed lately? It could be something with work, kids, learning, or just life in general.

About 🌱 Thriving Moments
This space is for sharing thriving moments — meaningful moments that reflect growth, connection, regulation, insight, or support over time. Thriving moments don’t have to be big wins or polished outcomes. They might be quiet shifts, steady routines, moments of understanding, or things that simply felt supportive or sustaining. Some thriving moments are personal. Others may come from experiences supporting learners. When sharing about learning contexts, we keep details general and non-identifying, focusing on the learning, growth, or support rather than personal information about individual learners. There’s no right way to share here, and no expectation to post regularly. Some people notice and share. Others read and reflect. Both are part of the practice. You’re invited to take what’s useful, add when it feels right, and return to this space as needed. 💜 Let’s keep noticing what supports thriving — together.

🌱 A small thriving moment from this week
A friend recently inspired me to think about the stories we tell ourselves — and how easily we treat them as true. I decided to gently challenge one I’ve carried for a long time: “I’m not a plant person.” I’ve shared a picture of an unhappy plant that was recently gifted to me. In the past, I probably would’ve thrown it out. This time, I chose to believe I could enjoy and care for living plants in my home. I did a bit of research, realized I had accidentally overwatered it, and tried a few gentle next steps to help prevent root rot. Even if this plant doesn’t make it, something shifted for me — I noticed myself changing the story from “I can’t keep plants alive” to “I’m learning what this plant needs.” That felt like a small but real thriving moment.
