Who Are You Becoming?
Dear Teacher, Teaching has a quiet way of shaping us over time; not just in how we teach… but in who we become. It shapes the way we listen, respond and how we hold ourselves in challenging moments. So this month, I invite you to reflect on who you're becoming through this work that we do. Teaching is formative and if you’re not paying attention, you can drift into habits that don’t actually reflect who you want to be. So if needed, choose again. Have a wonderful month! Ann-See 💌
Who Are You Becoming?
A little housekeeping… and a familiar name returns 👀
Hey ... I'm currently in Bangkok and it's boiling here. I do hope it's a tad cooler back in the UK. I've been doing some tidying up and the Yoga Life Club has reverted back to being The Yoga Teachers Club 😂. Some of you will remember that was where we started before I broadened things out into The Yoga Life Club. Nothing dramatic has happened and, if you're already a paying member, you don't need to do anything. This space will now be much more clearly focused on yoga teaching and teacher development: learning, questioning, sharing ideas and continuing to develop our craft. I really want to use this space to share my knowledge and experiences with you from my decades of teaching yoga and group fitness before life shifts again. If you're not a yoga teacher, you're absolutely welcome to stay. There are still free resources here that you may enjoy, but if your interest is more in personal practice, meaning, the interior life and what it means to flourish, that's increasingly where my writing and practice-based work at The Sacred Practice on Substack lives. Here's the link if you'd like to join me there too: https://annseeyeoh.substack.com/ If you were subscribed to Pocketful of Grace, you should have received an email from Substack as I'm moving the audio drops there from September. You're welcome to stay and use the past content and recordings of the live classes. Meanwhile, for the teachers amongst you, welcome, or welcome back, to The Yoga Teachers Club. It feels rather good to have the old name back. 😊 Ann-See xo
Rethinking Strength in Yoga
Is it time to rethink strength in yoga? Strength has become one of the biggest conversations in our profession. We're encouraged to help our participants build stronger bones, healthier bodies and greater resilience. But is adding more planks, longer holds and tougher classes really the answer? Or is there a more intelligent way to develop strength through yoga? I'm putting together a brand-new 3-hour interactive Teaching Lab for yoga and movement teachers. We'll look at how breath, sequencing, repetition, tempo and progressive teaching can help us build strength without losing the essence of yoga. You'll leave with fresh ideas, a four-week lesson plan and, hopefully, a completely different way of thinking about strength in your classes.

Rethinking Strength in Yoga
Connection Begins With You
Dear Teacher, August has a different rhythm. For some, it's quieter. Classes are smaller, routines are interrupted, and people are away. For others, it's one of the busiest months of the year, juggling work, family, holidays, and everything in between. Whatever August looks like for you, I wonder if it's an invitation to notice one word: Connection. As teachers, we often think about helping our students connect; to their breath, their bodies, or the present moment. But before we can invite others into connection, we need to ask ourselves: What am I connected to? Am I connected to my own practice, or am I simply teaching everyone else's? Am I connected to why I started this journey, or have I become caught up in the mechanics of running classes? Am I connected to the people in front of me, or am I busy delivering the session I planned? Connection is something we return to, and I invite you this month, before each class, take one slow breath before you begin. Look around the room. Really see the people who have chosen to spend this next hour with you. They've come looking for guidance, encouragement, challenge, rest, or perhaps simply a place where they can feel like themselves for a while. Meet them there. And don't forget to meet yourself there too. Teaching is at its most powerful when it grows from genuine connection rather than performance. May August remind you that the smallest moments, a warm welcome, a pause, a kind word, a shared breath, often leave the deepest impression. Much love ... Ann-See xo

Midlife - Catalyst for change
@Ann-See Yeoh Thank you for the recording for the first week of July. The course aligns beautifully to the monthly lesson plans, with an abundance of yoga life wisdom. Looking forward to developing skills around noticing energy expenditure this week 🤩
