10 years ago tomorrow, my priorities changed forever.
Ten years ago tomorrow my dad passed away.
There are a lot of things you think about after losing someone, but one realization has stayed with me ever since:
I would give anything for more time.
More conversations.
More dinners.
More ordinary moments that felt unimportant at the time.
And it forced me to look honestly at something uncomfortable.
How easily we let work become the priority.
Not because we’re bad people.
Because we’re ambitious.
Because we’re building things.
Because there’s always one more task, one more opportunity, one more “important” thing to do.
But the truth is, none of that replaces the people we love.
Ten years later, one thing is very clear to me:
I will never prioritize work over relationships again.
Business matters.
Ambition matters.
But the people in our lives matter more.
What’s your priority?
