The challenge in the intro for ManOS was to share something from the initial reflection questions. One of them was "what does being a man mean to me today" and as I wrote in my journal it became clear who I want to be. So im putting this out there kind of as a statement to myself to say "I'm doing this. This is the Northstar for my direction". If I had to describe a true man as I aspire to be, it's "quiet confidence". It's the man that walks into a room and because of his confidence, his true love and compassion for all of those he comes in contact with, the mood and tone of the room shifts. There's no pride or aire of superiority, it's just a person that you are drawn to because you know that no matter what's going on, he's going to be calm and see it through. Quiet confidence. The person in the room that doesn't have all the answers, but knows that collectively we do and can help pull those answers from the group. The person that you want to be with, not because he's great, but because he makes you feel great. I often think about the true meaning of meek. It comes from the Greek word praus and is used to a) describe a soothing medicine.
b) Used by sailors to describe a gentle breeze.
c) Used by farmers to describe a broken colt. All of these are *great power under control*. Men should be meek. I want to be the meek one in the room.
