Weight Lifting Discussion
Was curious how different folks prefer to workout when the objective is to build muscle strength.
Typically when I go workout I try to focus on 2 muscles or groups and look to do 2-3 different lifts for each muscle. I usually will try to pick two totally different muscles to work.
For example, I will work biceps and upper back and do 2-3 different lifts targeting each and alternating between each muscle for some recovery. I wouldn’t usually do biceps and triceps in the same workout.
To me this seems to be the best way for me to fully work the muscle to fatigue or near fatigue.
However with that being said, if I have missed working out for more than 3 days I may try to do a workout where I do one lift across the whole body biceps, triceps, chest, legs, upper back, etc. I actually really enjoy this type of workout but it feels like it’s lighter and not as helpful for pushing muscle strength.
Thoughts, opinions?
Oh and also I try to throw abs in every other day in addition to the 2 muscles, can never do enough abs..
