For years I thought the goal of a podcast was listeners.
More downloads.
More subscribers.
More reach.
And don't get me wrong...
I love seeing the numbers grow.
But eventually I realized something important:
Listeners aren't the goal.
Conversations are.
Because listeners can love your show and never take another step.
They can listen every week and never join your community.
Never subscribe.
Never become a client.
Never even tell you they're there.
What changed everything for me was connecting my podcast to the rest of my ecosystem.
Over the last 30 days I've welcomed:

Not because I suddenly got more downloads. (I've had over 1.1 million of them)
Because I got better at creating a path for listeners who wanted more.
That's the part nobody talks about.
The podcast isn't the destination.
It's the beginning of the relationship.
The real question isn't:
"How do I get more listeners?"
The real question is:
"What do I want my podcast to do for my business?"
