Welcome to The Board.
Every Great Business Has One. Now Yours Does Too. If you haven't already noticed, The Growth Syndicate has a new name. And there's a very deliberate reason for it. The overwhelming majority of UK businesses don't have a board. They're led by one person who has to make every decision, solve every problem and carry every responsibility. Yet look at the world's most successful businesses and you'll find something very different. They all have a board. Not because they're bigger. Because they're smarter. A board brings different perspectives. Different experience. Different expertise. Someone who spots the financial risk you didn't see. Someone who challenges your marketing. Someone who asks the awkward question. Someone who tells you you're making a mistake before it costs you thousands. That's what a good board does. It doesn't just support you when things go wrong. It challenges you when things are going right. It pushes you further than you would ever push yourself. Most business owners can't justify employing a Finance Director, Marketing Director, Sales Director, Operations Director and experienced entrepreneurs to sit around a boardroom table every month. But every business deserves access to that level of thinking. That's exactly what The Board is. A place where ambitious business owners can ask questions, challenge ideas, share experience, avoid expensive mistakes and make better decisions. Because every great business has one. Now yours does too.

Gojiberry AI lead generator
Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else has had experience of Gojiberry - it's an AI driven LinkedIn lead generation tool (I think since Apple, Blackberries and Orange they must be running out of fruit now). My findings so far is that it is a great time saver, but is better not to rely on the AI generated messaging, which many on LI are getting inundated with in their inboxes. Too early to tell about the quality, but have had a couple of disgruntled complaints about the cold outreach, for which I think I probably need to develop a slightly thicker skin. I'd be interested to hear about tips and tricks, experiences etc. I'll report back in my own again when I've seen some more results coming through.
PR - The Superpower to Massive business valuation
Miss this weeks Masterclass lesson, and you're missing ££Millions of business valuation People think PR is a nice to do. Something you do later. When you’ve got time. When the business is bigger. When you can “afford” a bit of fluffy marketing. That mindset costs people millions. PR is not about vanity. It’s not about ego. It’s not about seeing your face in a magazine. PR is value creation. The difference between an ordinary business and a premium business. Charlie Mullins didn’t sell at 4× EBITDA (The Average UK Valuation). He sold at 29×. Kevin Byrne didn’t sell at 4×. He sold at 22×. I didn’t sell at 4×. I sold at 18×. That gap isn’t operations. It isn’t margins. It isn’t spreadsheets. It’s reputation. If nobody knows you, you are replaceable. If everybody knows you, you are valuable. PR is the slow layering of belief. Not one advert. Not one campaign. Not one press headline when you want to exit. Years of visibility. Years of authority. Years of being talked about when you are not in the room. Without it you have a business. With it you have a brand. And brands are bought differently. One tick tells you its Nike One yellow M and we know its McDonalds Fred Bloggs IT services or Bill's bakery mean nothing !! Create a Brand if you want to be taken seriously Go through this weeks masterclass. (Link below) Listen to the podcast. Work through the worksheet. Then ask yourself honestly: Am I building a company… or an asset? Set some PR goals today. Become known. Or stay invisible. https://www.skool.com/thegrowthsyndicate/classroom/e8a00b2c?md=90dd59eda95f4d8ca22107624fc948e0
PR - The Superpower to Massive business valuation
Marketing? Media?? YOU!
The world's biggest companies are also the world's biggest marketers. The fastest-growing start-ups are often the best connected. The most successful business owners don't disappear behind their desks. They invest in marketing. They invest in PR. They invest in relationships. They invest in being seen. This isn't about posting endless rubbish on social media. It's about making sure the right people know who you are, what you do and why they should trust you. So here's a question... Last week, what % of your time did you spend building visibility, relationships and opportunities? And what % of your turnover did you invest in marketing, communication and growing your network? Most business owners say they want more customers. Very few spend enough time or money making sure those customers know they exist. Visibility creates opportunity. Relationships create trust. Trust creates sales. If your business isn't growing, before you blame the economy, ask yourself one simple question... Am I spending enough time making sure the right people know I exist?
Marketing? Media?? YOU!
Are You Proud of Yourself?
It's a question I don't think enough people ever ask themselves. Not... "Are other people proud of me?" Not... "Do I get enough recognition?" Just... Are you proud of yourself? Because here's the truth. Most people spend their lives craving appreciation from everyone else, whilst quietly knowing they're not living up to the promises they've made to themselves. You said you'd lose the weight... You didn't. You said you'd make the difficult phone call... You didn't. You said you'd stop scrolling and start learning... You didn't. You said you'd get up earlier... You didn't. You said this would be your year... Yet here you are, doing much the same as last year. Then we wonder why we don't feel confident. Why we don't feel fulfilled. Why we don't get recognised. Confidence isn't built by compliments. It's built by keeping the promises you make to yourself. Every time you follow through, you earn another vote of confidence. Every time you break your word to yourself, you lose a little self-respect. The people who radiate confidence aren't pretending. They're proud. Not because they're perfect. Because they know they're doing the work. So before you ask whether your boss, your partner, your customers or the world appreciates you... Ask yourself one question. If nobody clapped... ...would I still be proud of the person I'm becoming? Because that's where real confidence begins. Choose to do something that would make you proud of yourself in the week ahead... ...and ACTUALLY do it
