What I Did With Years of Forgotten Files
I recently opened a box of old listing lead files that had been sitting untouched for years — and instead of tossing them, I decided to put them to work. 📦
Here's exactly what I did:
✅ Used Geo Warehouse to check whether each contact still owned their home
✅ Anyone who had already moved — I let those files go (missed opportunities, and that's on me)
✅ Everyone still in their home? They're getting a personal letter from me this week
The letter is handwritten-style, customized with their name at the top, signed by me at the bottom. Inside I included:
→ My business card
→ A card reminding them about my referral program
→ My VIP+ Club card (free to sign up and use)
No pitch. No pressure. Just a genuine touchpoint reconnecting with people I'd already built rapport with.
I'm dropping 20+ of these at the post office tomorrow. 📬
Will it lead to listings? Maybe. But even if it sparks one conversation, it's worth it — because these aren't cold leads. These are people I've already sat across from.
I'll report back with results. Has anyone else done something similar with old files? 👇
