They differ by state, by public versus private work, and by your tier. Miss one and the remedy is gone. No forum post fixes that. Confirm every date with a construction attorney licensed where the project sits. Contract language is written for a specific deal. A clause that protected somebody else can hurt you in a different scope, delivery method, or state. Never lift language from a post into a contract you sign. Payment disputes get worse when they are public. If you are in or near a claim, do not post the project name, the parties, the contract, or your correspondence.
