Introduction:
Hey, my name is Zac Nye, owner of Nye Family Construction LLC. We’re a family-owned residential construction and remodeling company serving Hickory, Taylorsville, and the surrounding areas of Western North Carolina. We build and remodel homes—from kitchens and bathrooms to decks, additions, roofing, and everything in between. Our goal is simple: do good work, treat people right, and build things we’re proud to put our name on.

Hi Zac! What brings you here to the community and what do you hope to get out of the free classroom content? (Zac and I go way back . . . to Facebook hahaha)
Introduction
Hello. My name is Dale Mossberger. I am an estimator at Jungsten Construction. We do high end new homes and remodels throughout Marin County and some in San Francisco and Sonoma Counties. We are family owned and just starting our 40th year in business. I have been here for just over a year, but have been in construction for 26 years and estimating for 22 years.

Hi Dale! Welcome to The Trailer! I'm the founder and admin for the group. I'm an estimator/ project manager by trade and have worked for GC's and MEP's over the last 30+ years in the industry. I recently relocated from Chicago to the Bay Area this last October and am excited to bring this resource to everyone in here, What are you hoping to get out of the community and the free classroom coursework?
Start here. Three things, ten minutes.
This room is open, and it's mostly empty, and I'd rather say that than pretend otherwise. Here's what to do first. ONE. Open the Classroom and read Start Here. Ten minutes and you'll know where everything is and how the levels work. TWO. Post an introduction. Not because it's polite — because it's the fastest five points you'll earn, and five points opens the next track. Tell me your trade, your radius, and the one thing that's costing you money right now. THREE. Ask me for a template. Any of them, by name. There's no download button and that's deliberate — I'd rather know what people actually need than watch a folder get scraped. Message me and I'll send it. The workshop runs Wednesdays at 7:00 AM Pacific. Twenty minutes of teaching, then hot seats. Bring something real. One more thing. The videos aren't filmed yet. The written lessons and the templates are — those are the part you can use Monday morning, and they're here now. The videos get made in the order you tell me to make them, so when you post what you're stuck on, you're voting. — Ro

Read this before you post in Money & Contracts
This category exists because money and contracts are where jobs get won and lost, and most contractors have nobody to ask. It is not a substitute for counsel. Nothing posted here is legal, tax, accounting, or insurance advice. Rowena Tulacz and R. Construction Solutions are not acting as your attorney, CPA, or broker, and nothing in this room creates a professional relationship of any kind. Answers you get are peer opinion based on somebody else's project, not an evaluation of yours. Three things that bite people specifically. Lien and notice deadlines are statutory and unforgiving. They differ by state, by public versus private work, and by your tier. Miss one and the remedy is gone. No forum post fixes that. Confirm every date with a construction attorney licensed where the project sits. Contract language is written for a specific deal. A clause that protected somebody else can hurt you in a different scope, delivery method, or state. Never lift language from a post into a contract you sign. Payment disputes get worse when they are public. If you are in or near a claim, do not post the project name, the parties, the contract, or your correspondence. Ask the general question here and take the specifics to your attorney. Post redacted. Assume anyone can read it. When the stakes are real, get a professional.
