Okay Rebecca, I did take pictures of what a hot mess the bobbin area was of my Singer machine as you asked :) I don't have good lighting & had to hold a flashlight & try to take pictures at the same time but, you can see it was long overdue for cleaning! 7 brushes later, she is all clean :)

When you gather fabric to add to a skirt or top (bodice), what kind of seam do you do to attach it? How do you make look thin instead of clunky? I have seen some garments that sandwich the gathered fabric between two pieces, but what if you're already working with thinner fabric? Right now I am working with a cotton bed sheet for practice stuff.
