Question of the day
If you had the sewing skills to make ANYTHING you wanted, what would you make? I’ll go first… I have always wanted to try my hand at making a Double Wedding Ring Quilt but the idea of it intimidates me.

Happy Monday Sewing Academy friends ☀️ Here’s what’s happening inside the community this week: 🗞️There’s been just a little confusion about how The Sewing Academy and the SKOOL platform works. It’s a system that is relatively new and probably unfamiliar to many of you. I am going to give a little tutorial in a separate post today (or tomorrow); so be looking for that. My goal is to do a screen record video with myself on the screen talking. I’ve NEVER done that before so this could turn into a comedy show 🤣 Wish me luck! ✂️ Wednesday – Sewing Circle Chat 7pm EST Bring a project, a question, or just come hang out and talk sewing. The Google Meet link is in the Calendar tab. You can join us by PHONE, TABLET or LAPTOP/COMPUTER. 🎉 New Members Please help me welcome our NEWEST sewists joining the community: @LaNetta Davis @Shelby Pruitt @Caroline Brady @Judy Huber @Traci Rattler Murry @Jade Trejos @Pam Kimble @Rosa Fortuno @Dayana Jeanty @Marcia T @Francesco Detela @Allyson Scanlon @Cindy Burnham @Cecilia Ornelas @Debbie Forrest If you’re new, tell us: What made you decide to learn sewing OR Where you are in your sewing journey We would LOVE to get to know you 🥰 💵 Community Perk: YOU can earn 20% MONTHLY commission when someone joins Premium ⬅️ (only $7) using YOUR personal invite link. You can find your link by clicking: Community → three dots → Invite People. If you’d like to invite a friend who wants to learn sewing, this is a great way to do it. Hope everyone has a wonderful week of sewing!

Welcome newbie makers! I know Skool is A LOT when you first arrive, but take your time and discover it all at your pace.
Why Many Beginners Struggle When Learning To Sew🪡
Most people think learning to sew means jumping straight into a project; BUT that’s actually one of the biggest reasons beginners get frustrated. When you’re first learning to sew, you really need to get comfortable with a few core skills first, like: • sewing straight lines • controlling the fabric • understanding your machine • learning basic sewing terminology That’s why inside The Sewing Academy I teach beginners using paper practice sheets first, so you build confidence before moving into projects. Once those basics click, sewing suddenly becomes much easier. If you’re new to sewing, tell me in the comments: What part of sewing feels the most intimidating right now?
