Interview
Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you well and that you’re having a beautiful day. I had the absolute honor and pleasure of sitting down with the amazing Janna Champagne today on my show, The Holistic Alternative, on USA Global TV. We shared a truly powerful conversation, diving into everything from how cannabinoids have supported Janna personally with her EDS diagnosis and her daughter’s autism, to the ongoing challenges surrounding stigma and safe access to plant-based medicine. We also explored her inspiring journey from working in traditional medicine to becoming a passionate herbalist—and so much more. If you haven’t yet had the chance to tune in, I invite you to watch this heartfelt and informative segment below: https://www.youtube.com/live/DCmGMm0_Mfo?si=8WvTF3wxolP0vOaV A huge thank you to Dr. Jacalyn and the entire team at USA Global for your continued love and support—it means the world. Wishing everyone a joyful rest of your day and week! Much love and appreciation, ~ Julie

Whole Plant Medicine 🙏🪴
Snippet from the required for my herbalist certification course (2023 completion)- written by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar. Clearly the herbalist community is no stranger to the concept that whole plant is always best for medicinal use - not sure why this concept is so controversial in the cannabis world 🤷‍♀️ More receipts: https://www.endocannabinoidmedicine.com/news/a-comprehensive-framework-for-assessing-therapeutic-quality-in-medical-cannabis/

Oregon Gardening
Last weekend, traditionally the vegetable garden planting time in Oregon, was also my first perennial apothecary garden harvest of the year. This was my apothecary garden last weekend before I planted my annuals, meaning all of these regenerated on their own naturally. The second photo is my plunder from this first collection of medicine, and harvesting the larger material, while leaving the new smaller leaf chutes, means I will have a second harvest in mid-summer on many of these. Stay tuned for videos of before/after!

Bee Smarts
We have had unseasonably warm late fall in Oregon, such that I saw a bee the other day. It reminded me of summer days☀️. (July) This little bee has figured out it can drink licorice root water through my fabric grow bag - what a smart little critter 🐝 Historically, recorded use of licorice root reflects it may have been one of earliest plants used as medicine. Egyptian pharaohs coveted this tasty and beneficial tea. To experience the wonder that is licorice root tea, simply steep in boiling water for 10 minutes. A tea made of licorice root offers healing support, while also providing a very sweet taste that is often used to temper stronger tasting herb blends. Here’s my favorite online organic supplier for licorice root, which makes a wonderful warming tea, or beneficial and sweet boost to your favorite blend. More herbal blend tea tips to come! https://www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/nutritional-supplements/herbs/single/licorice-root/cut-sifted/licorice-root-cut-sifted-organic/8905?package=HS689&a_aid=edf7ffcdd3
