Hey you all!
Starting something like this is always a bit tricky: what to say, how to set up the themes etc.
But here´s my idea in a nutshell:
My job basically is to help people feel better. Wellbeing is many times some sort of goal for people but what is it? Is there a line somewhere that when you cross it, you just suddenly feel good? In Finnish i tend to use a term "paremminvointi" which means feeling better. We can pursue on that no matter where in life we currently stand at.
So my job is to make people feel better.
I am a mental health nurse and a cognitive brief therapist so feeling better in that context usually involves talking about thoughts, emotions, feelings and how they affect on our behaviour.
I am also a physiotherapist with a post-graduation specialization in mind & body / psychiatric approach. In Finland we have a specialization that goes by the translated term "Psychophysical physiotherapy" or #Physiotherapy for mental health. It includes topics such regulation of the nervous system, balancing ones´s mind & body functions and inner phenomena associated with social interaction. This type of physiotherapy leans heavily towards person´s own subjective experience and reflection of what is happening in my mind and in my body.
Because of my professional background of both the mind and the body, i try to create a setting in which these two dualities can form a better functioning whole.
I would very much like to share some of the things i have learned that might make one feel better. I have written down some of my professional interests that you can read throug, just click the About -tab.
English is not my native language so bare with me, i will have some misspellings and grammatical oddities for sure :)
Welcome! Hope to see you around!
